Runaway Bride

Steve's heart beat faster and faster as he gazed down the altar.

He turned to Bucky who was smiling at him, Sam standing behind Bucky smiling too.

The familiar tune of the wedding music began playing. The doors opened. His heartbeat accelerated and he waited.

The crowd stood up anxiously and looked towards the back.

Steve's heart fell, his eyes filled with tears and his face reddened. He took a breath of fresh air as his blue eyes fell upon the green of her's. Her eyebrows were arched.

The crowd started murmuring and Natasha cleared her throat.

"What's happening?" Tony mouthed towards Natasha who was standing at the doors.

"I don't know where she is" Natasha mouthed back towards him and began walking quickly towards the altar.

"Um excuse me? Everybody?" Natasha screamed.

Steve frowned and looked at her. "We seem to be, um, having a problem with the bride, it's fine, not to worry actually"

"Did she develop cold feet?" A man asked. "No I don't think so, she's probably just.. having problems with the dress" Natasha laughed.

"Like come on, these two love each other she couldn't run away"

"We got a RUNNER!" Sam screamed after the sound of engines caught everyone's attention.

"Oh come on!" Natasha yelled and began running towards the exit. Steve sighed and looked down.

Natasha disappeared and left a loud crowd complaining and talking.

"What the hell? Why would she leave you??!" Bucky asked talking to Steve.

Steve shook his head and sat down in the floor.

"Oh geez, you okay Steve?" Sam asked. "Fine" he replied.

"I must say, what a dumb woman" Thor spoke. Steve frowned. "Hey if you ask me, any man worthy of Mjolnir is worth getting married to"

"Mm then maybe you should marry him" Tony added. "You know what I will, priest!" Thor exclaimed.

Steve laughed and Thor sat next to him. "Don't feel bad, these things happen to everybody"

"Really Thor? Men get stood by the altar all of the time?" Steve asked.

"Well given the fact the majority of marriages end in divorce, I would say technically yes. Shit happens right?"

"So, that's it? No wedding?" A woman questioned.

"Well, if she appears"

"No hell no, you are not marrying that woman even is she shows up again, you must be sure man, she must be sure, this shows doubt, it's destiny, you weren't meant for each other" Sam argued.

"Do you believe in destiny Steve?" Sam added.

"What, that everything happens for a reason?" Steve lifted his eyebrow.

"Yeah, do you believe that?"

"Give me the reason Sam, why did she leave?"

Sam cleared his throat. "I don't know, look, all I know is, in life, one taxi goes, and another one comes"

Steve frowned and stared at Sam. "Taxi?" He simply asked.

"I know what happened, look I don't want to ruin this for you, but I heard her and Natasha talk a few minutes ago, and she said... you're right, marriage sounds scary" Clint spoke.
