It took a long time
to find this steel spine
but you somehow
managed to
melt it
like Icarus' wings;
I flew too close to
a binary star system,
heat so powerful, it
left me dizzy with
the weakest knees,
so drunk on the
grapes of love that
I never once
considered wrath
& here I am
plummeting down
into waters
in which
I'll happily
drown.
