Reign of...Confusion?

Memphis just beat me in the HOH competition and I am just glad to know I am safe for the week. As soon as we walk into the house, Memphis pulls me aside to the pantry to celebrate his win and talk about strategy. I am worried about being seen with him in front of everyone because if you are seen as a pair, they will target you and I do not want to be targeted right now. Once we enter the pantry and the door shuts, Memphis bear hugs me and we begin to celebrate.

Memphis: Good job today B!

Syn: Same to you, Mem! Congrats on the win!

Memphis: Thanks. You were very close to the number.

Syn: I had a rough idea of the number but overshot it by a few seconds.

Memphis: I was impressed. I wanted to talk to you quickly to get your input on what I should do.

Syn: Ok. Shoot.

Memphis: I want to make people sweat and have everyone but a few people use the Safety Suite this week so I have a better chance at winning it next week.

Syn: Ok. Do you want me to use it or not?

Memphis: Will you keep me safe next week if you win it?

Syn: Yes if you do the same for me.

Memphis: Done. I was thinking of either targeting Janelle and Kaysar or Nicole and David, maybe Ian as well.

Syn: Well, I think you can gain leeway with Janelle and Kaysar by not nominating them. I do not see Ian as a threat right now because he is not the biggest fan of Janelle after their season together. I would say Nicole and David with Nicole A as the main target.

Memphis: I was thinking that too. I picked David for Have-Not to haze him a bit since he has not been one.

Syn: That could be your reasoning for nominating him.

Memphis: True. Please keep this between us!

Syn: Of course.

Memphis: Well, I'll let you go so no one suspects us. 

Syn: Bye Mem and congrats again! Can't wait to see pics of River!

We hug and I walk out of the room. I am a little worried about how Memphis is going to handle being HOH for the first time ever because he has never had this position before and he was a bit of a dick in season 10 without this power. Imagining him with power is a little bit scary and I am just glad to know he is not only keeping me safe this week, he is coming to me for my advice as to who should go home. I decide that if anyone asks me about what moves Memphis will make, I will just say that he did not tell me, only that I was safe.

I walk into a room with Janelle and Bayleigh and they are talking about how safe they feel with Memphis and this worries me. I think Memphis is trying to play the same way he did in Big Brother 10 and that was to use targets as shields and play the middle. They ask me what I think about Memphis being HOH and I tell them that I am happy he won his first HOH ever and I am not too worried about him being HOH, which is true. I explain that he pulled me into the room to congratulate me on being close to winning.

What is nice about me telling them this information is that it gives me credibility as well as giving Memphis an easy way to agree with them and not lie to them. Memphis comes barreling out of the Diary Room with a notecard and tells us to gather in the living room. When Memphis reads the card, it is revealed that the Have-Nots from the week before are choosing this week's Have-Nots and I know I want to volunteer for this. Memphis chooses David right away and I can tell David is hurt by what Memphis did. Ian is up next and before I get to volunteer, Nicole F volunteers.
