By nature, Morgana Anderson had always been passionate about the things she cared about. A tad bit rebellious at times, too.
So when the eight year old spotted an old instrument in a music shop, her parents knew that there would be no chance in persuading her not to buy it.
Hence began the story of Morgana Anderson, and her old brown guitar.
But that's a story for another day.
The Andersons were a pureblood family, who, like the Potters, had a knack for getting into Gryffindor, and according to her parents, no other house would do.
She depended on music; it was the only thing that kept her sane. When everything started to overwhelm her, she would lock herself in her room and play her guitar till she could no longer remember what had troubled her so much in the first place.
Morgana had grown up in red and gold, with lion soft toys, and few friends. She often was sent to the Potters' place, to spend the days where she couldn't be taken care off, but if she was terribly honest, James Potter was an arrogant flea.
She didn't think he even had the vocabulary to make conversation outside Quidditch - it was either 'What's your favourite Quidditch team' or 'Who do you think will in Ireland versus France?' or 'What broom will your parents get you next year?' And, quite frankly, she was sick of it.
That's when the first rebellion started.
Being the only child had its perks; when Morgana's parents were out, she would tell them she was going to the Potters, and instead, would run a few blocks to the muggle park, and spend her afternoons there.
They were some of the most memorable moments of her pre-Hogwarts life.
She had met a few muggle girls around her age - a pretty blonde named Riley, and a redhead called Sofia. At first, their parents had been wary of Morgana, which she didnt blame them for, seeing as she probably looked like a street kid, in the park without any adults, and the occasional guitar appearance, but they soon relaxed when she informed them where she lived.
Her part of the neighbourhood was well known for its rich inhabitants.
It had continued like that for a few weeks, before she'd been caught.
And her parents hadn't reacted well.
The next day, she'd been frog marched to the Potter's house, and been given a long lecture about rules. Rules. Another thing she despised about her home life.
"Hi Morgzie!" James shrieked wrapping her in an uncomfortable bear hug as she entered his house.
"James." she grumbled, wrinkling her nose. He reminded her of C major - basic, overused, and liked by everyone.
"Hey!" he screamed, surely hyper on sugar. She winced at the impact on her eardrum.
"Wanna go upstairs?"
Not necessarily.
"Sure." Morgana replied flatly, casting a reproachful glance at her parents, who seemed to be ignoring her. "Unless-"
"That sounds like a good plan!" Maddy Anderson interrupted, glaring at her daughter. "Morgana, be on your best behaviour. I don't want to hear any complaints from Auntie Effie."
