Niomi's POV:
When my senses, are regained, I first hear all the voices. Some are the voices of my new friends, but most of them are weird, half-whispered things.
Break...
Never see this.....
Have faith......
Be kind.....
Look back....
Trust......
My eyes slowly open, adjusting to the light. Then I see that there are many faces around me. I try to sit up, but someone keeps me back. Hazel has her hand planted firmly on my shoulder.
"Sorry, but you need to rest. That was a nasty fall you took. How do you feel?" She asks, putting her fingers lightly on my forehead.
I give her a questioning look before answering.
"Well, first, tell me what happened, and second, tell me why I have this horrible headache." I say, laying my head back on the soft pillows.
I look around momentarily. I'm back in the house, the fire is blazing in the hearth and it is very warm. But a comfortable warmth.
"Well, you passed out on your walk with Kaden and when he came back, you were slung over his back. You hit your head bad on a rock. See, there are bandages over the torn up skin. We're lucky it wasn't deeper. You could have split your skull." Mia says, grabbing a wet rag and placing on the part of my forehead that isn't covered.
I don't have a fever, so I'm not sure why she has the rag on my head. Noticing that Hazel's hand is gone, I sit up quickly, before anyone can stop me. Almost everyone objects, but I wave them off. I stand up, a bit wobbly, but I make my way to the mirror on the wall, carefully.
Winnie gives me a sympathetic look as I peel the bandage off my forehead. But I'm greeted with nothing. No scar, no blood, nothing. The others look just as shocked as I do. Especially Mia. Winnie is the only one who doesn't look in awe. I touch the skin, amazed that there is absolutely no pain.
The others all come up to me, admiring the miracle. That's when a thought hits me.
"Winnie, you knew this would happen, didn't you? You knew that I could heal." I say, walking towards her.
She smiles and nods.
"Yes, I did know. But that's only because I knew your parents. Your father had the same ability." She says, turning away absentmindedly.
I stare in shock at her.
"You knew my real parents?" I ask, dumbfounded.
She nods again.
"Well, tell me about them!" I exclaim.
She shakes her head.
"I can't tell you anything that will alter your future. You can have no knowledge of you parents. Well, not yet." She says, walking back to her little sitting table.
This gives me an idea. Let's see how long it really takes for my wounds to heal. I unstrap my dagger from my belt and slice a clean cut on my palm. The blood pools up there, then spills over, onto the carpet below.
The others watch in silence. About a minute later, the wound suddenly starts to close up. The blood recedes and soon the whole cut is gone. I gape at it, as do the others.
This could be a helpful tool.

~3 Hours Later~
After getting a few hours of sleep, only by Hazel's nagging, I get up, my hunger taking over. After getting a bowl of today's stew, which I believe has deer in it, I sit down at the long dining table that stretches in the middle of the room.
Halfway through my bowl of stew, a piece of warm cornbread is placed in front of me. I look up and over my shoulder, greeted by a smiling Kaden.
I give him a half-hearted smile, not really feeling in the talking mood.
"Hey, so I see that your not feeling great, but we have to start training tomorrow. And it is gonna be hard, so I hope your up for it." He says, Giving me a unsure smile.
I just smile, genuinely.
"Believe me, it will be a piece of cake." I say, very sure of it.
Boy was I wrong.

~The Next Day~
Well, straight after waking up, I'm brought into the most vigorous day of training I've ever experienced. Ever.
There is sword fighting, archery, javelin throwing, chakram discing, and many other things, all of which included some type of physical exercises. And I was fine with it, until we got to the running. In the woods. That I have no idea how to navigate.
"Ready, set, go!" Kaden yells, taking off into the dark trees. And within seconds, he's gone. Vanished. I gulp, then start jogging in the direction he headed. But then something happens.
A scene flashes before my eyes, barely a second long. But I know what I saw. And I now know how to get to the destination Kaden is trying to reach. I take off in a sprint, hurdling over logs and fallen branches, boulders and small creeks.
When I finally reach the goal, Kaden is no where in sight. I smile to myself. I beat him, I actually beat him. I hear a few puffs of breath a few meters back, so I run and jump up to the top rock. When Kaden comes around the bend in the trees, he stop short and looks at me
His mouth hangs open for a millisecond, but he catches himself.
"Hey, you made it here. Good job. Say, how did you get yourself here?" He asks, starting to scale the sheer rock wall.
"Oh, I just thought about it. Then I ran. My senses kicked in and I somehow ended up here." I say, flicking a mosquito off my leg.
Kaden gives me a sly smirk, sitting on the rock below me. I smile back, only sweeter.
"well, I guess you won..... This leg. First one back takes all the glory!" He says, launching off the rocks, hitting the ground running. I gasp.
"Hey, no fair!" I shout.
"All's fair in love and war, my dear!" He calls over his shoulder. But then I do the unthinkable.
I launch myself from the overhang, which just happens to be a good 20 foot drop. I hit the ground, springing back up, nothing wrong. Kaden stands by a tree, dumbfounded. I smile as I sprint by, taking the lead.
I hear him pick up the pace after a few seconds, but by then, I've had enough of a lead. I reach the house first, touching the outside wall and stopping to catch my breath. A few moments pass and Kaden finally appears.
He stops next to me, catching his breath as well. I smile at him.
"So, when are you gonna give up?" I ask, propping myself up on the wood wall next to me. He gives me a 'are you serious?' look and shakes his head.
"I'm not giving up. But you will be tomorrow." He says, leaving it at that and walks into the house.
All I do is gulp.
