"So how do you like your new computer?" Comte asked his partner during breakfast. Leonardo seemed to be quite taken with his new PC set.
"It works fine. Great even," The Italian chuckled. "Definitely the best thing that's ever happened to me in 600 years."
"Good to know." Comte sipped his coffee.
"But, damn I'd be lying if I said the thing doesn't make me feel jealous."
"What do you mean?"
"Well," Leonardo laced his fingers on the table. "Think of it this way: you have a machine that can do all your work and store valuable pieces of information, which you can freely obtain from an infinite number of resources. You can see why humans envy these machines and rightfully so. Hell, that's an ability only I can dream of as a vampire."
"I see what you mean."
"But of course, there is a limit to the amount of data that can be stored in the memory, and all you need to do is erase some of the unimportant data to make space," Leonardo flicked his cigarillo. "At other times, you need to uninstall junk apps that clog the system."
Clouds gathered behind Leonardo's eyes as he continued.
"If only," he sighed. "If only we're able to erase useless information and forget all those horrible memories keeping us down. Think of all the greater things we can achieve."
Unsure of what to make of it, the blond man shakily set down his cup.
