Courting with a Cat (Leocomte ver.)

Comte indulgently stared at the black cat as it kneaded Leonardo's blanket-covered chest.

He'd heard of kittens kneading on their mothers' belly when nursing, and he'd seen grown cats doing it too on a tree or the side of a wall. But to see a grown cat doing it on a man—

Well, this wasn't Comte's first. He'd seen the cat climb up to Leonardo's bosom and dig its front paws there, closing its eyes and blissfully purring as it did so. The Italian scolded it at first but then proceeded to scratch it between the ears and ran his large hands gently over its smooth back.

The count watched as the cat stretched, its back arching with ease.

"House cats are an artistic masterpiece in both form and size. The evolutionary culmination of the feline." Leonardo said when Comte encountered it for the very first time. The rascal was lazily sprawling on top of the more high-priced maps that Comte bought for his lover.

How appropriate, the count thought, the owner himself is as much of a masterpiece as his pet.

Comte reached out to caress the cat. It mewled happily in response, tucking its paws under its stomach as it settles down on Leonardo's chest for real. This time, the act succeeded in rousing Comte's compagno.

"....what on earth?" Leonardo grumbled, blindly groping at his chest to figure out what was (quite literally) burdening his chest. His eyes flew open upon coming contact with another's skin on top of the fur he's familiar.

He turned to amber ones reflecting his own.

"Bonjour, mon Coeur." Comte greeted, sleepiness long driven away from his voice. "If you're still tired, you can go back to sleep."

"The way things are," Leonardo gestured at the purring bundle of fur on top of him. "I don't think I can go back to sleep even if I want to."

"Stay with me then," Comte tucked Leonardo's bangs away. "Look. It's missing you too."

"That's a 'he' to you," Leonardo muttered. "How many times do I have to remind you?"

"That's your fault." Comte moved closer to rest his head against Leonardo's bare shoulder. "If only you'd given him a name."

"Any suggestions, amore mio?" Leonardo lightly caressed the cat's nose with his middle finger and hissed when the cat bit him. "Ow. Quit it, you little devil."

The sight drew a chuckle his lover, drawing Leonardo's attention. "What's so funny?"

"Little devil," Comte's golden eyes beamed as he laid an arm across Leonardo's abdomen. "That's a good one."

Leonardo turned to the cat, which was staring back at him. The black-furred beast didn't even budge as his owner's chest rumbled with laughter.

"Diavolo, then." Leonardo sighed as his newly named pet bumped lovingly against his fingers. "Couldn't have picked a better name."
