Chapter 23

It was couple of weeks after that little incident. We were all being trained to be our very best for provisional hero licensing exam. So every day I'll end up so tired and my limbs would be dead. All the girls felt the same way. It was until we were talking about Ochako's crush that we got some life back into us. Honestly it was kinda cute seeing her be so helpless with her feelings.

But that just reminded me of my own for Todoroki, I mean he was nice and all but I really couldn't imagine me with him. If you put him beside me there were a lot of things that he was superior to me and I couldn't help but feel inferior. I was really lacking a lot of confidence. But that's when my best girls came in.

I was at a little cafe with Yaomomo, Jirou and Ochako just spending the day and trying to relax from all the harsh training. We were all just talking about normal stuff but I was a little quieter than usual. I was basically just thinking about how I don't have a chance with him. Just give me a break okay!! I like to let my thoughts wander around without restricting them too much.

"Hey, L/n you feeling okay?", Ochako asked me.

"Yeah, you seem a little quieter than usual. Is anything wrong? You can always tell us you know", Jirou continued. Well they seem to catch on quick.

I decided that I should just tell the truth. I really didn't want them to worry about me. So I gave in.

"Well I have a crush on this person-", I was cut off.

"It's Todoroki, isn't it!", Ochako squealed. I was really surprised. "How did you know!?!" 

"Lucky guess", she replied with a smile.

"Well yeah", I continued. "But I just can't imagine myself with him. You know he seems so much better than me and I clearly feel inferior. I just feel like I really shouldn't do it.", I said while looking down on my hands resting on my thighs.

"Well clearly you're wrong.", Yaomomo suddenly spoke up. "You do remember that on quirk apprehension test you score 3.56 miles which was greater than any of us, let alone Todoroki. Also in the USJ you defeated so many villains and in the sports festival you came first. You surely do remember how mad Bakugou had gotten. Then while in the practical exam we all had partners while you faced the hero all alone and still passed. And after all those achievements even in the training camp you fought against a bunch of villains without your quirks. Todoroki told me about it and he was really proud of you. So Y/n give yourself some credit. You have done so much and then you say you feel inferior. Honestly to me it's the other way round. So go for it girl, we're here for you!!", Yaoyorozu finished with a smile.

(No I'm not gonna make Yaoyorozu a b!tch just because of some other fanfic you read. I love her and she deserves some love too. So I don't think her personality should be changed just because of who she's shipped with)

I was really happy at this. I knew I had amazing people in front of me who would help me through anything. And after Yaomomo's little motivational speech I felt like even if Todoroki rejected me I'll still be the same Y/n and nobody will be able to change that.

"Thanks Yaoyorozu. That's exactly what I needed", I replied while returning her smile with mine.
