"I DON'T UNDERSTAND WALLY. It's almost like he needs to believe the impossible can't happen," M'gann asked the two that knew him best after a while of walking aimlessly through the tundra. Faith had said that there was a door somewhere around here that could lead them back into the tower.

Kaldur approached the question calmly, having known Wally for a few years means he can understand how he thinks. He answered for Katherine also. "Wally uses his understanding of science to control what he cannot comprehend. Acknowledging magic would relinquish the last vestige of that control."

M'gann looked away from Kaldur thinking about what he said, until something creaked and thudded in the distance. The sound caught the attention of the four of them, all eyes averting to a door positioned on top of a hill, it's golden glow contrasting against the dark terrain.

Squinting her eyes in its direction, Faith recognised the room inside, the shelf lines with books being visible from where they stood.

"That's our way in," Faith stated, tugging on Katherine's arm happily, the room being one that was practically scarred in her mind from when she last saw it.

Taking Faith into her arms, M'gann flew her to the door as Katherine carried Superboy and Kaldur, speeding up the trip. As the reach the steps leading to it, Faith squirmed in M'gann's grasp, making her let her go. She dropped to the stairs along with Kaldur and Superboy, dashing inside with the four close behind her.

Her fingers grazed over the dusty bookcases, a type of vintage smell filling hers and the others noses as she led them through the hall, coming to a large circular room. It was lit up by the forever lit torches littering the four walls, some hanging between bookshelfs and positioned on top of the side tables residing in the corners of the ancient room. In the middle was a large pit of water, mist rolling off it and coating the ground, with a path stretched out around it. But what caught their attention was the figure inside, hidden beneath the surface.

Fiery orange hair was fanned out around her pale face, light pink parted lips being accompanied by a red cut in the corner. A dark bruise was visible under her eye, a cut sliced across her hairline with a burn mark barely visible across her neck. She was dressed in a black singlet and black leggings, a necklace sitting around her neck with the charm (a golden star) hanging off the side. Her arms were stretched out on either side of her, moving ever so slightly as the water rippled.

Katherine opened her mouth to question who was hidden beneath the water, but there was one identity tugging at the back of her mind.

Sudden footsteps and voices cut her off though, making her seal her lips as her friends also heard it. The voice however was familiar.
