The big day has come.
As I sit in my car as my father drives, I can't help but feel anxious and very nrevous.
"Karia, you will be fine, you've got this in the bag." My father always was a kind man. He'd do anything to help others. I just nod as I'm too nervous to speak.
When we arrive one thing is evident.... it's all boys.
Not a girl in sight. These are ment to be mixed trials. Worry fills my head.
You have to give it your all I tell myself. No backing out now. This is your chance. It's your time to shine. The head of the trails blows his whistle. Everyone walks towards midfield. "This is how this works. Over there in that stand are scouts from England. They are here to find talent. If they don't find talent they will leave and go elsewhere. Do your best and show what you've got. Good luck everyone. Oh and girl your going to be in the spotlight so don't cry." All the boys laugh. I'm going to beat them all. I'm going to get this chance if it's the last thing I do.
I look to the stand and see my father, he holds two thumbs up to me and I nod. I gather with my team. I'm playing up front as a striker. I must score. I must impress.
The ball is at my feet to kick off. I take a deep breath in. The referee blows his whistle and we're off.

The game isn't going well. My team are down 2-0. Nobody is passing me the ball. Time is running out. Come on Karia bring yourself into this game. I run to the ball intercept the defender from the other team and take off.
I dribble down the wing and cross the ball. The player for my team misses the goal by a mile. I am frustrated. I can see that the boys release I can't actually play and now begin to pass the ball to me. We receive a corner kick. It's quickly taken and the ball is passed to my left foot. I take a quick look and boom, the ball fires right into the top corner. I hear cheers from the stands and the sideline. I do not celebrate. I need to score another. My team takes possession and we take the ball up the field.
I pass the ball to my teammates between defenders and showing my controlled skill at the same time. My team scores again and I got the assist.
The game ends 3-2 after I score a fantastic free kick that I fought to take.
We all gather in midfield once again. The scouts, all dressed in suits, come to join us. "We have a few players who would like to talk to." Four names are called. Not mine. Words cannot describe my disappointment."Oh sorry, one more, Karia Crowe". I try to conceal my delight. I have been chosen. I have a trail with a club in England. I couldn't care of its a division two club. I'm going to England.
A scout with greyish black hair calls me to the side. "Hello, I'm Ed Woodward, I'm a scout for Manchester United. I FaceTimed out gaffar and he was more than impressed. We would like to offer you a trial in England as soon as possible."
I cannot breath.
Manchester United.
Me.
My favourite club.
The one I have supported for my whole life.
Is this real life?
My father is at my side he is as shocked as me.
All I manage I say is "Are you having a laugh?"
