Here we go...
Reason 1
He's the main characterTell me who likes Percy the most from Percy Jackson? Bilbo the most from The Hobbit? Barry the most from Flash? Probably not a lot right? That's the funny thing, they are all the main character. Apparently everyone thinks it's cliche to like the main character so they don't like them but everyone thinks that so basically very few people like them.
Percy is a cool dude, powerful, brave, smart, and overall just a nice guy. He isn't always one note which gives him character. Bilbo is brave (especially for a hobbit), he is kind, smart, and willing to risk it all for Thorin and his company. He also gets questionable when he gets the ring. Barry is brave, loveable, cool, smart, and friendly but at many cases in different parts he gets kinda dark. Harry is kind, brave, smart, loves his friends more than anyone else in book could imagine, understanding, and is a very good listener. I won't say he doesn't make mistakes because he does but it gives him character, he learns from them. Sadly these characters get most of their hate solely because they are the main protagonist.Reason 2
Harry isn't dumbHarry isn't dumb. He's just not. I won't say he is nearly as bright as Hermione because well, who is? However that did not mean he passed his classes just because they were friends. Take HBP for Example. Snape is The Half-Blood prince right? So then the instructions in the book would be the same Snape would have taught. The only difference is Harry wasn't ridiculed and put down in this class so he exceeded and not just because of the book. Harry in many occasions solves the plot before others. Harry would do fairly well in his classes even without Hermione though she did make an impact. A lot of shining moments which Ron and Harry get are given to Hermione in the movies which isn't right.
Reason 3
He is a good personSo really I understand if u like other characters (heck mine isn't even him) but I feel like people are always making out amazing characters like Ron, Harry, Dumbledore, and Lupin to be bad and wrong which isn't good. I know some people might think it's a book but to others like me this franchise is my childhood and I care a lot about it. The moment you read the first word of it you just get sucked in and you can't stop (try it yourself). Harry is a good character, tries his hardest, and fails sometimes. That's why I don't think Harry deserves so much hate.
Ah thank you for reading my opinions which nobody asked for
