The Z-Band

Addison's P.O.V

The next day, Mom scheduled a town meeting to discuss the new monster laws.
Some of the laws where going to be lifted, since the "brain eating" zombie population had gone down.

The same day, Zed was scheduled to meet my parents...and of course I was extremely nervous. My parents still don't know he's a zombie and I'm a little scared to find out what they'll do once they do know..

Right on cue the doorbell rang. My parents jumps at the sound then they approached the door.

I was about to say something like "Mom, Dad! You can't open that door." But what would that do? They'd open it anyway. It's not like those words would suddenly change their decision in any way.

My mom opened the door and to my surprise some human was standing there. He had a weird watch thing on- it seemed like it was on pretty tight. Around the watch, his skin was turning a dark red.

"What..?" I muttered to myself

My mom turned around due to my reaction.

"Were you expecting someone else?" Mom asked

I glanced over to the human standing at the door, he strangely looked like Zed...but normal.

"No! I was just- surprised that he came so quickly!" I said nervously

"Well are you going to introduce us?" Dad asked

"Uhm.. Of course! This is Zed, my uh- boyfriend?" I stuttered

Zed looked at me questioningly once I said the word "boyfriend." I shrugged nervously and he just decided to go with it.

"So.. When did you meet Addison?" Dad asked

Zed opened his mouth the speak but I quickly interrupted him.

"No time to talk, I'm sure you guys have so much to do with finishing plans for that meeting!" I said quickly

"Nonsense, Addison. We can spare a little time." Mom stated

"We can't! Gotta go, bye!" I said, before pushing Zed out of the doorway shutting the door behind us.

"What was that for? Thought I was suppose to meet your parents, not stand there awkwardly while you guys argue." Zed said

"Well I have questions too! How are you human!?" I said

Zed showed me his weird looking watch then explained.

"Eliza made this 'Z-Band' thing to help us fit in a little and I guess it turned me human? Cool right!" Zed said

"Zed, you don't need to change the way you are to fit in." I said

"During the zombie apocalypse? I think I do." Zed said tensely

"Well, maybe this whole town needs to change instead of us." I said

Zed and I walked to the town meeting in silence. There was just nothing left to say.

At The Town Meeting

Once we arrived, Zed headed to his seat. I had to help my mom (the mayor) prepare some stuff.

Once I was done I headed to my seat but before I could get there someone grabbed my arm.

"Addison!" They said

I turned around to see it was Eliza, wearing a Z-Band but she wasn't all human-like. She looked worried or scared..

"Eliza? What's wrong?" I asked

"I-Is Zed wearing his Z-Band!?" Eliza asked, still catching her breath from running over to me.

"Uh- yeah? Are you okay..?" I said curiously

Eliza pulled out her laptop from her backpack and sat down on the ground.

"Eliza, the meeting's about to start we have to get to our seats." I said "Also... How is your computer working, it's the middle of the apocalypse?"

Eliza ignored the question and kept on typing. I went and peeked over to her screen and it had the layout of Zed's Z-Band on it.

"Is something wrong with Zed's Z-Band!?" I said

"Yes! This is all going to go horribly wrong in a few seconds if I don't-"

On cue, I heard screams coming from the audience. Eliza and I quickly looked over at Zed.

His hair had turned back to green and his skin turned normally pale. The abnormal thing was that his veins were black looking and darkness covered around his eyes ((basically monster Zed- like in the movie))

"W-What's happening!?" I frantically asked Eliza

"His Z-Band wasn't finished. It was a prototype b-but I didn't know it would do this!" Eliza explained

"What's going to happen if we can't get him back to normal!?" I asked

"Well that's obvious, he's going to turn everyone in this town into zombies." Eliza said, unfazed.

"Great.."

Author's Note

Hai readers! Hope that last part left you on a cliff hanger buuuutttt I guess you already know how it ends in the movie so it's not that surprising.

Btw! I ran out of zombie fanart thumbnails so I don't think you'll be getting any until the final chapter. Sorry guys! I'll try looking for more but J can't seem to find to many... Also I'll try to post more since I have absolutely no excuse not to (except lack of inspiration but whatever)
