Chapter 14

Time skip: Georgie is 1 year old.

Hero's pov
' Daddy, wake up, it's the birthday girl ' i hear Jo say and open my eyes. Georgie is sitting next to me on the bed with a huge smile, and i reach my arms out to her, to pull her in a hug. ' I can't believe you're already a year old ' i say as i feel her small arms around my neck. The last 6 months have flown by. Georgie took her first steps two weeks ago, and the only thing she wants to do now is walk. Jo and me are beyond proud. Georgie is still close to Jo, but also wants a lot of time being spend with me. She still has dark hair, emerald eyes and Jo's facial features. She is truly a bucket full of sunshine. My thoughts get interrupted by Jo. ' I can't believe it's been a year already ' Jo says with a small smile. ' Me neither, it's been an amazing year ' i say before i place a kiss on her lips. ' Your mom agreed to pick up An- ' Jo stops abruptly when and looks at me. ' Did you hear that? ' i say to her. ' I did ' Jo whispers. Georgie just said her first word, mommy. I pull Jo close to me and look at Georgie. ' What did you say munchkin?  ' i say with tears in my eyes. ' Mommy, daddy ' she says with a big smile on her face. ' Oh Georgie, i love you so much ' Jo says as she picks her up and holds her close to her chest. I kiss Jo's hair and stroke Georgies cheek. Our daughter just said her first words, both mommy and daddy. I can't put into words how much i love this little girl.

Josephines pov
' Let's go Georgie, we're going to your first birthday party! ' i say as i finish dressing her. I can't believe it's her first birthday, neither can i believe that she said her first words today. ' Mommy ' Georgie says as she puts her arms around my neck and i walk downstairs, with her on my hip. As we walk into our beautiful yard, we're greeted by our closest friends and family. ' Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Georgie, happy birthday to you ' they sing in unison, while Georgie is giggling and humming in my arms. Hero takes her from me and places her in her high chair, and giving her a kiss on her head. We ordered a beautiful pastel pink birthday cake, with a miniature version for Georgie herself. As soon as the cake is in front of her, she starts eating it with her hands and making funny faces while doing that, making all of us laugh.

Georgie is on Hero's lap, unpacking her gifts. We're eating cake, talk, adore Georgie and just have a good time. That ' good time ' lasts until i feel a sudden nausea in my stomach. I ignore it, and try to focus myself on Georgie, who is excited about all the gifts she got. She giggling and smiling the whole time, and it's adorable. ' Jo, are you okay? You look a little pale ' Mercy softly asks. ' Yes, i'm fine ' i say, still trying to ignore the growing nauseous feeling in my stomach. She nods and we get into a conversation with Anna and my sister. Katherine tells us about her new show, Anna tells us about Asher and Mercy updates us about her crush. The nausea doesn't go away, it only gets worse and worse, and i quickly find an excuse to get away without anyone worrying about me. ' I'm going to bring her gifts inside, and use the bathroom, i'll be right back ' i say as i excuse myself from the conversation. I grab a few of her new toys, quickly walk inside and place them on the dining table. I rush upstairs, to our bathroom, and as soon as i'm in front of the toilet, i start throwing up.

After i quickly brushed my teeth and cleaned my face, i sit down on the cold tile floor. I quickly check my calendar to check when my period starts, just to be sure. I frantically search for the word period, and find that word on April 4th. F'ck. That's a month ago, how could i've possibly missed the fact that my period didn't start? I look for the pregnancy test, that's somewhere in the cabinet. I bought it for situations like this, but not with the intention i would actually need it. I quickly take the test and place it on the counter. I have to wait 3 minutes, but it actually feels like an eternity. I close my eyes for a second, and think about everything in life, before i open them again and look down at the pregnancy test. A positive pregnancy test. ' What? ' i whisper, while tears run down my face. I quickly place the test into the box, hide it in the cabinet, dry my tears and make my way downstairs before anyone gets suspicious. As i leave the bedroom, i bump into Mercy. ' Jo, are you sure you are okay? ' Mercy says with a soft tone. ' I'm pregnant ' i whisper.
