There we were. Baba and I, standing in a valley at the literal asscrack of dawn. I've never been more tired, yet excited. Today was the day that i learn something about what and who I truly am.

"Alright. Where do we begin? Ah, with the Tatau. It's supposed to appear during the aura release.'

I try to ask a question but he lifts his finger, as if what I was going to ask, was going to be answered very shortly.

"The tatau is a glowing mark, reponding of whatever element you control. Fire is red, water is blue, earth is green, and air is white. The basic tatau that every elemental is born with is in the form of a scar somewhere on their body, in your case, right in the middle of your eye. The tatau grows across the elementals body, but no one has yet to achieve a full-body tatau. It's said to be impossible. The only person to come even remotely close is the fire king."

"Good old dad huh?"

Baba chuckles and continues again.

"He has both of his arms covered in his tatau. To note, the aura release is a measure of your power before you enter your battle mode. It releases built up anger and pressure from within your body so you don't, you know, blow up."

I raised an eyebrow at this revelation. The fact that this so called aura release isn't even an attack, but more of a flare and that it could kill me if I didn't do it often? What in the fuck is this world?

"Now, after the aura release, and you've entered battle mode, the tatau spreads across your body based on how advanced you are with your abilities. The more covered, the stronger you are. But, the real kicker is that the elemental masters, those who are the leaders of their respective territory, they can summon an element spirit. It is the literal embodiment of what they are. The fire king summons a phoenix, the water emperor summons a hydra, the air master summons a pterodactyl, and the earth kai summons a great ape."

Listening to this has gotten me intrigued, what if I could summon an element spirit?

"Now let's begin with the aura release."

For the next several months, I spent time mastering the Aura Release with Baba, but since we couldn't find out what my element was, we decided it best to just stop trying outright. eventually, I gained the trust of everyone in the village and helped Theo even expand his tailor shop. As time went on though, i realized that I needed to talk to the fire king. baba knew that he wouldn't be able to hold me back, so he brought me to the air master in order to grant me safe passage to the fire kingdom's borders. Surprisingly, it was granted, and after saying goodbye to everyone in the village, I left. Scared shitless of what was to await me when I finally met my father. I need to ask him what the hell happened to my mom.

I reached the fire kingdom four weeks after I left my home village, the air elementals that were escorting me left, and I was on my own now. All that was left to do was find my dad. Oh, I do have to note that since I'm in "enemy" territory, I have changed into the clothes I wore when I first arrived some months ago. Sneaking around in the wilderness of the fire kingdom, with no sense of direction or when I'm going to eat next. Eventually, I found the enormous fucking palace that had to belong to the fire king. The only issue with this damn thing, is that it's locked up tighter than a fucking military base, though I'm sure that my previous life as a burglar would help me in my current predicament.

After finding a way inside, I had to sneak around this place for what seemed like hours, before I finally found the massive palace of the fire king. When I snuck into this place, it was more difficult than even entering the damn compound. It was a damn maze but I found the war room. Based on what everyone has said to me, he's bound to be in this room at some point. So I waited, and waited, and waited. Until finally, the massive doors that lead into here swung open. I was greeted by what  was probably the most majestic man I've ever seen in my life. I assumed it was the fire king based on what he was wearing. He stood at around 6 feet 4 inches, long dark dreadlocks, and was dressed in the most magnificent shades of red and orange to represent the fire kingdom. I hid in a dark corner of the room to try and listen in on the conversation between him and his advisors but I was to anxious and revealed myself to them.
