"Weeks had passed ever since Zero and Five broke the silence treatment, as they walk around what's left of the city they once called home. They already knew it was pointless, trying to find another human out here, but they still had hope. Hope that was dying, but still hope". " Hey Zero. Zero, hello? Are you there?"

Zero, now around 55 years of age, was torn out of her memory by non other than Five Hargreeves, who now had white-ish hair. They had spent countless years in that hell, in the apocalypse, but had been given an opportunity that "saved" them. Or rather made their lives even more miserable. The Temps Commission they call it. Five years of service for a extravagant retirement to a time of their choosing. Once they got to the commission the competitive spirits of Five and Zero resurfaced, sparking a rivality between the two. But this time Five had won. He was the deadliest assassin of the commission. Zero to course didn't like the idea of Five winning, but she couldn't bat and eye when she saw what a criminal she was becoming. She felt guilty of being selfish enough to kill innocents for her own benefit. So she only took out real enemies. She didn't blame Five, he was worried about not being able to go back to out time, before the apocalypse.

Of course this didn't last long. She had been paired up with Five for a mission, it was the first time they had been paired up for a mission. They had to go to Moscow and plant something on Lenin's drink, it was a virus, it would kill him and lead to the deadly USSR. And they did it. They arrived to Russia, booked a motel for the night and went straight to the business. It was midnight, they had until tomorrow to come up with a plan and kill the man.

The only thing that could be heard was Zero's heels clicking against the floor as they walked towards their motel room. The hallway was dimly lit by neon lights all around the walls.

" So, what's your plan?" Zero asked, it was they first time she had spoken to him after all this time. They only exchanged cold glances and challenging looks ever since they arrived to the Commission. She deeply missed him, "after all we have gone through together, and now we don't even talk" she thought.

"Well, we will use your power to make them think we are elite socialists that are here to talk to our "hero", get in with the man, put the virus on the drink, come back here and wait." Five answered.

"Well that's simple" she noted as she scanned through the numbers in front of the doors. Room 295, she checked the number in the metal key to verify it was the same before opening the door.

"Do you really have to check the number Zero, I thought you were a grown up" He said as he snatched the keys from her barely aged hands and opened the door.

She didn't bother to answer him as she noticed the motel only had one bed, well this is awkward. Years had passed ever since they shared a bed. They didn't even talk to one another now, why did this happen to her. That last time they had shared a bed was back when they were in the apocalypse, when they were 14 they had decided to sleep in the same bed to "combat the cold". Not knowing their hormonal teenage bodies wouldn't react well to that. But that didn't stop them, they kept it as a tradition, until they agreed to become part of the commission and were separated. She didn't know if she would still react to being close to him as she used to, and she didn't want to find out.

"Are you just going to stand at the door way all night long?" Five interrupted her line of thought.

She hesitated as she closed the door behind her and walked directly to the small bathroom the motel housed.
