Chapter 6

I blink my sleepy eyes twice, and turn to face josh. He must've gotten up last night and slipped some blankets around me because there are about forty of them on us. He opens his big blue eyes and focuses them on mine.
"Good morning beautiful." He whispers.
"Good morning you big cheese" I reply, giggling.
"Ah that's the jen I know. You seemed a little off yesterday."
"Maybe it was the wine at one o'clock" I laugh.
"Want to shower? You have first dibs." He requests.
"I also have no clothes."
"Well that shouldn't be a problem." He answers.
"That joke was not even funny!" I laugh.
"But you're laughing!" He giggles.
"Yeah okay you win! Can I use some of your clothes?"

About twenty minutes later, I get out of the steaming hot shower. There is a warm towel on the counter, josh must've snuck it in. I begin to wrap myself in it when there is a knock at the door.
"Uhh I'm naked." I answer confidently.

"Even better" is the answer. I hold the towel to my body and he enters.

"Getting cocky?" I ask with a playful wink with my left eye.

"Yep" he answers and approaches me. He places his hand on my cheek and kisses my lips. "Breakfast is ready." He says.

I nod and he leaves me to myself. I slip on one of his shirts and my underwear. I really should go get some clothes from my house. I exit the bathroom and trot down the stairs. The warm smell of waffles illuminates the house.

"Josh! You did not make me waffles!"

"Pancakes, but close enough."

I laugh. Josh has that hospitality that makes you never want to leave.

He is the one. Stop it Jennifer. You don't know that yet.

"Wow. I love you in my shirt." Josh says as I appear in his kitchen. That wasn't the reply that I wanted. I just simply wanted 'I love you' or 'I adore you' but what do I get? 'I love you in my shirt'
