I awaken to a loud buzzing sound. It rattles my ears and stings my brain. I rub my eyes before searching for the source. My arms stretch and my legs extend. I turn on my right side towards the night stand to find my phone shivering and flashing. My eyes squint in the light.

I slide the little green phone to answer him. My voice cracks. "Hello?"
"Hey Jen!"
"Hey josh! Why are you calling so early?"
"Jen it's noon!" He giggles on the other line. "I figured you would be awake by now."
"Well I am now! What's up?" I ask.
"Just thinking about you. Do you want to go get a pizza?" My heart fumbles. I haven't had lunch with anyone since nick left. I take an act of courage.
"Sure! Pick me up at 1:30"
"Bye jen!" Josh hangs up the phone. I brush my hair back from my face and crack my knuckles. My legs swing over the side of the bed and my feet find the stone cold floor. I start walking to the bathroom and turn on the shower.
