Chapter 5 - Confusion

"Jamkkanman, you're our new manager?" Chaeyeon asked.

"Uh huh. I got here cuz Misoo ssi-, I mean Misoo noona told m-"

Chaeyeon jumped and gave you a tight hug, cutting off the end of your sentence.

"Jinjjaro? You're not lying?" Chaeyeon said while looking up at your face. She didn't let go of the hug either, and she was squeezing you to death.

"Yeah.... can you let go.... I'm kind of dying here..." She dropped the hug after hearing that.

jamkkanman, or 잠깐만¸, roughly translates to wait a minute

jinjjaro, or 진짜로, translates to really? u can also drop the ro at the end and just use jinjja

Eunbi, wondering why Chaeyeon was taking so long to open the door, comes over to investigate the problem herself. Turning the corner, she comes face to face with you.

"Chaeyeon, who's this guy?"

"Oh, this guy? This guy's my stepbrother."

"Oh, annyeonghaseyo" Eunbi said to you, giving you a slight bow.

"Annyeonghaseyo." You replied, giving her a full 90 degree bow to show your respect. You couldn't help but notice how pretty she was in real life, compared to on television.

i doubt this is necessary to explain so I'm just not going to l0l

Eunbi was visibly flattered that you gave her a full 90 degrees, and so she invited you into their home. Well, really, your new home that they didn't know about just yet. You took off your shoes and put them on the enormous rack, noticing how neatly organized it was. Each section had a name tag on it. On the bottom row, there was a small section with an empty name tag that could fit maybe 5 pairs of shoes that was empty. Conveniently, it was next to Chaeyeon, so you decided that it was the most ideal spot for your shoes.

Following Eunbi, you were met by the remaining 10 IZ*ONE members who were spread out between the kitchen, living room, and dining table. They were all doing various activities, trying to feign ignorance to the newcomer in their house. Secretly though, they were watching you out of the corners of their eyes. You really did not like this publicity, as you preferred the shadows. But this is probably what happens when you affiliate with idols, you guessed.

"Everyone, we have a new friend here, who's also Chaeyeon's stepbrother." Eunbi announced. She gestured for you to introduce yourself.

"Oh. Um. Annyeonghaseyo. My name is Eunwoo and I am 20. I'm also Chaeyeon's stepbrother, and, um, I'm your new manager." You said nervously, ending with a bow.

What?

Everyone instantly stopped what they were doing after hearing those words. Yuri, who was drinking water, instantly spat out the water, causing a mess on the floor. Everyone, with the exception of Chaeyeon, looked at your with gasped expressions. Your face quickly heated up before giving another bow. 

"Please take care of me."

"Yah, aren't you supposed to be taking care of us?" Chaeyeon shot at you.

"Well, yeah, but you get the idea." You snapped back.

While you two were bickering with each other, the other members quietly talked to themselves.

"Woah, he's our new manager? He looks very... scary..." Yena whispered to Yuri.

"I think he looks nice. Plus, if he looks scary, wouldn't that be a good thing to scare off the crazy people?" Yuri said back. "I'm sure they hired him cuz he was good, right?"
