There once was a man who lived in Italy.
He would become a famous scientist in history.
He was a professor in an Italian university,
But then he studied the field of astronomy.He studied science, but he had a feeling,
That he wanted to study beyond the ceiling.
He made a device which he had hope;
He created the refracting telescope.With this device, this scientist found,
Jupiter's three new moons orbiting around.
He observed the rings of Saturn.
He wrote down the orbital patterns.He believed the heliocentric theory,
But the Catholic Church charged him with heresy.
Though he was forcefully asked to recant that the earth moved,
The world discovered it later, and it can be proved.With all his discoveries and his inventions,
The world has a better scientific comprehension.
His name is Galileo, and he is to me
The Father of Modern Astronomy who can foresee.He influences me to have a strong scientific reliance.
He encourages me to use and study more science.
He is not a man who ran from persecution's horror.
He became a cosmic, world renown EXPLORER.
