The World In Lines

Let's start off in North America,
The place that I live in and was born.
Three countries: U.S.A., Mexico, and Canada,
The land the pilgrims had corn!

A country known for liberty!
A country known for their French!
A country with Spanish delicacy!
All three have independence!

From San Francisco to Washington to New York City;
From Vancouver to Montreal even to Quebec City;
From Guadalajara to Monterrey to Mexico City;
All three countries are very big and have really big cities.

Let's now go to South America
A continent very south.
Two dominant languages: Spanish and Portuguese
These languages are spoken in the populations' mouth.

Home of the Amazon River,
This continent has very big jungles.
Home of some animals that will make you shiver,
And animals that you want to snuggle.

Let's now go to Europe,
A continent that is very well known,
Cities of rich culture,
And known for many royal thrones.

From Paris, the city of love,
To London, the city of the British throne.
From Athens, the beginning of the democratic gov.
To Rome, which once had an empire that they owned.

The continent of many explorers,
That explored the New World.
Many of us have forefathers,
That came from this continent of the Old World.

Let's now go to Africa
The heart of the continent for some time hardly known.
Home of the beloved Nelson Mandela,
And the place that created the Rosetta Stone.

The land of the Egyptians,
They made a great civilization
From the Great Sphinx to the grand pyramids,
They made a great nation.

Let's now go to Asia,
The largest continent in Earth.
From the Taj Mahal to the Great Wall-
They have many wonders unearthed.

A continent full of culture,
A continent full of new heights,
A continent near the largest ocean,
And a continent full of delight.

From mysterious forests to beautiful religious shrines,
And the skyscrapers that are so very high,
This continent has so much history and wonders
It can make one smile, tear up, and cry!

We now go to Australia,
The smallest continent in the earth.
Land with very cute animals
Such as koala bears and kangaroos!

This continent has beautiful views
For everyone to see,
Such as the Uluru to the Great Barrier Reef,
And the skyline of the amazing city of Sydney.

We must not leave off Antarctica
The coldest continent in our earth.
Home for the scientists who research there,
And the gigantic polar bears who roam that part of our earth.

From giant icebergs to humongous glaciers,
From Emperor Penguins to the cutest ones in earth,
This continent is very interesting; but
There are greater wonders in this continent to be unearthed.

I must end this poem, but before I do,
I will give a summary of all the continents with a line or two:
This earth is mysterious; this earth is beautiful; and these continents are filled with interesting cultures.
Each continent wants to share the heritage and culture for all to see and wonder!
