Mays' P.o.V
I nodded at Y/n, then turn to the forest and run. The moment I hit the tree line I leaped and the portal to home appeared in time for me to pass through it. I briefly hear gasps of surprise before the scent of smoke overpowers all my senses. I snap back to reality. I land on charred ground. 'Weird.' I thought. I jog towards to The Hub only to be interrupted by a wail. I freeze, my eyes widen. A small breeze flows towards me from in front. 'Blood.' I run as fast as my legs will take. Another wail hits my ears. I burst through the tree line only to stop dead. The Hub was all but ashes and ruins. Bodies of other guardians are spotted everywhere. Another wail breaks through the ash-filtered air as well as crack. I burst into action running towards the sound. "Hello? Where are you? I can help!" I yell out.
"I'm over! Help!! We're stuck!!!" Someone calls.
"I'm coming!" I call back. I continue to run to the voice. The entire town was in ruins. 'Movement!' I whip my head in that direction and see a raccoon stuck under debris. They lift their head up to look at me, fresh blood running down from a head-wound. I bolt towards them. "I'm here."
"I see that," they say "Now, help me please." They continue in a pleading voice. I waste no time trying to free them. Then another wail breaks through the air. It sounded if it came from behind the raccoon. "It's okay little ones," the raccoon hushed "someone is here to help."
"How many are down there?" I asked worried, 'No grown Guardian would wail, they would call. They must be really young.'
"Many young fox, many." They say, shaking their head.
"I can't lift this alone..."
"You don't control Earth, do you?"
"No. Fire."
"I am too weak to use my powers... young fox, do you know your human?"
"Uhh, yes I do. Why?"
"Can they be trusted?" They asked.
"Yes." I say confidently.
"Then bring them here. Ask for their help."
"I won't leave yo- "
"That isn't a request. That is an order for a Command Guardian young one."
"Okay...Yes. I will be quick." And so reluctantly, I turned around and ran back the way I came, trying to ignore the dead.
