Slipping out of bed, Emily's bare feet touched the warm fuzzy rug as
she stumbled into her plain bathroom. Brushses, makeup, and other
things were scattered around the counter. Looking in the mirror, Emily
sighed as she saw her pastel pink hair tangled up in a birds nest. She
wouldn't be surprised if a baby bird popped out of there in any
minute. Softly running her fingers through her tossled hair, which
didn't help at all, she began her usual morning routine just like any
other girl would.Once she finished changing into a white wool knitted sweater that
stopped around her mid thigh, a pair of light blue skinny jeans and
some black converse, she slipped on her black thick glasses and
tiredly walked down the long stairwell into the shiny new kitchen.
Running her hands down the new waxed and polished wooden rail as she
made her way down. Boxes were scattered around everywhere filled with
their unpacked belongings. The smell of freshly made bacon filled her nose causing a small smile
to appear on her plump lips. She slumped down, or more of slightly
jumped, on the high barstool of the kitchen island that was made of a
beautiful white granite with flecks of black and silver.
Hearing the small frame of her daughter sit down, Emily's mother
turned off the stainless steel stove and turned around to face the
small teenager. "Good morning Sweety!'' her mother sang."Good morning,'' Emily's hand moved swiftly in reply
"Are you excited for your first day of school?''
" i guess.''
Their hands and fingers moved in all directions as they conversed in
sign language. Her mother placed a large serving of bacon and eggs on
a large plate and placed it in front of her, which only made Emily
drool and lick her lips as she looked down at the delicious food.
Grabbing a fork, she instantly began eating to feed the growling
monster that hid deep down in her tummy. It only passed three minutes
before she Instantly finished her breakfast. Emily stood up and went
over to the sink to wash her plate from the bits of left over egg that
had that had stuck to her plate. No words were signed as as Emily grabbed her backpack and checked to
make sure everything she needed was there.
Notebook? Check. Pencils? Check. Books? Check. Check, check, check,
everything's here."Lets go Sweetheart, we both can't be late for our first days." Her
mother said happily as she waited by the door. Emily nodded and
slipped her backpack on her small shoulders and walked out the door,
and into their brand new BMW.
Emily stood in front of the large gates of hell, also known as
school. She took a deep breath as she readied herself for the worst.
Pushing on the metal handles, she walked into halls filled with
teenagers just like any other highschools she's been to. Her wordless
communicational ways making her constant transitions from school to
school difficult. Most thought of her as the weird silent chick who
was probably planning a murder in her head, that being the reason she
was so quiet.
She made her way towards the small office so she could get her
schedule and her mom's homework, which was all of those papers she had
to sign.
"Why hello there!'' an old wrinkly lady with small reading glasses
resting on the tip of her nose and was sitting behind the office
counter said cheerfully. She looked like a nice lady you would find at
an old folks home drinking a cup of tea and offering you sweets, or
the sweet librarian who always drank coffee and had her nose stuck in
a book. Emily simply nodded and waved her hand to the kind lady.
"You must be the new student, I've never seen anyone with such cute
hair. Here is your schedule and everything else you need," she handed
her a light stack of papers. "We've assigned you a guide to help you
make your way around school, as part of community service. If he gives
you any trouble don't be afraid to come find me, I'll give him
detention.'' The old lady winked playfully. "Jesse?" she called out to
someone behind Emily. Emily turned around was was completely schocked
to see the type of boy boy slumped in a chair. He looked mysterious,
and let out a 'bad boy' vibe.~A/N~
