Vance's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. Tsss. First day of school na naman pala. (sigh) Good thing it's my final year na.

Dali dali akong bumangon para maligo. I can't be late on the first day. Don't want to look stupid in front of my classmates.

After kong naligo at nagbihis, I stopped when I saw myself on the mirror. I look fine naman, I guess. I took a deep breath.

Me : Two more semesters, Vance. Two more. After that, you can have all the time in the world.

Bumaba nako pagkatapos kong gawin ang mga morning rituals ko. As usual,

nasa dining table na sila lahat, eating breakfast.

Lauren : Hi kuyaaaa! Good Morning!

She planted a kiss on my cheek. Geez. Why does she have to be so energetic ? Ang early pa kaya. Plus, it's the first day of school. Maybe it's because of technology. Tsss. Teenagers this day.

Me : Yeah. So what's up for breakfast?

Lauren : The usual. (smiles)

Umupo nako para matapos ako agad. Eggs. Fried Rice. Hotdogs. Tssk. The usual nga talaga. I am tired of this life.

Lauren : Hey kuya, namatayan ka ba? Why do you have to wear black all the time?

Me : Just mind your own biz, Lauren. And stop pestering me. (gives her a creepy stare)

Lauren : (pouts) OKAY.

Me : Good. Ge na. I gotta go.

Naglakad ako papunta sa garahe namin.

Binuksan ko ang kotse ko at nagdrive papuntang school.

" Huy girls, alam nyo ba na may girlfriend na si Rex? Tss. Sayang man talaga. "

" Wow! Ganda ng shoes ah! Magkano bili
mo nyan? "

" Taylor Swift just released her album na. Do you have it already? Pa bluetooth daw be. "

" Waaaaah! I missed you, guys. Classmates tayo diba ? Tara na sa classroom, dali!

Tsss. Kararating ko lang ng school. Naglalakad ako sa corridor kaya samu't saring chismis nariring ko. Like seriously? Pwede bang sa private place sila magusap. People wont give a damn about what they're talking about. Tssk.

I checked my sched. Great. Just great. It's Philosophy. Room 602. I glanced at my surroundings. I saw the sign that reads, Room 600. Malapit nako. So I walked a little more till I reached my room.

Medyo maingay ang mga classmates ko nung pumasok ako. Well, I don't really care.

" Ano ba yan siya o? June na June humahalloween si Kuya. "

" Ayy gwapo sana sya. Mukhang living dead nga lang. "

Tsss. Damn, they're annoying. I glared at their group. Tiningnan ko sila ng masama. They stopped. Time for me to talk.

Me : Pangit na nga, chismosa pa. Try nyo kayang tumahimik, baka gumanda kayo. (sweet smile)

There. Hahaha. I was rude but they deserved it.

Just when I found a place to seat, the teacher walked in. He was tall and thin. He looks so smart. But .... I think he's a she. Haha.

Teacher : Good Morning Class. I'm Mr. Franz Soco. But you can call me, Sir Nico.

Class : Morning Sir Nico.

Sir Nico : Okay, I see you're from different courses. Tapos na ko mag pa kilala ng sarili ko. So it's you're turn. Let's start with ...

Sir Nico stopped because we all heard loud, incoming footsteps. Then, a girl appeared by the door. Mukhang pagod na pagod sya. Humihingal. Medyo magulo rin buhok nya.

Girl : Sir! I'm sorry. I was caught in a traffic jam. Can I still enter the class?

Sir : As usual. Syempre naman Ellaine. Now go find a seat.

Magkakilala sila ni Sir. Maybe she was her former student.

She scanned the room for vacant seats. Tiningnan nya yung upuan sa tabi ko. Then she approached me.

Ellaine : Uh-h-hmmm. Hi. Can I seat beside you? Wala na kasing bakanteng upuan. ( flashes a friendly smile. )

Me : Yeah. I don't own the chair anyway.

She : T-thanks.

I didn't mind her sitting beside me. Wag nya lang ako pakialam.

Sir Nico : Okay ka na jan, Ellaine?

Tumango lamang sya.

Sir Nico : Since late ka, introduce yourself first. (grins)

Tumayo sya at inayos ang suot na shirt. Huminga sya ng malalim.

Ellaine : Uh-hmm. Hey guys! Ako nga pala si Ellaine Hazel Lim. BS Psych po. Graduating student. I hope we can be good friends. Tayong lahat. Hahaha. Yun lang po. ( smiles )

There she goes again with her girly smile. What's with girls these days? Masyadong pacute. No wonder boys play with most of them.

Sir : As you can see student ko sya 3 yrs. ago sa Gen. Psych. Since taga dito sya sa college nato, naging close na kame.
Next is that boy beside you. Kindly introduce yourself please.

He was pertaining to me. I stood up and fixed myself.

Me : The name's Vance Nathaniel Aragon. AB Literature. Senior. I like to be alone all the time . I hate girls who talk a lot. I find them so annoying. ( looks at the chismosa earlier ). The only thing I love is writing and reading.

Everybody was gawking at me. Looks like, natakot ko sila. There. That should do it. Hahahahahaha.

Tapos ko, sumunod na yung iba syempre. I was bored. What was the purpose of this anyway? Di na kami highschool. Dami talagang alam ng baklang prof nato.

Nilabas ko na lang earphones ko sa bag at sinaksak sa phone. I played " Break your little heart " by All Time Low. Bahala na kung pagalitan ako. I don't even like this subject. I can just drop this whenever I want.

Just then, the teacher stood up.

Sir : That's enough for today. You're dismissed.

Finally.

I fixed myself and my things. My next class would be a few hours from now. Maybe I'd just go to the Internet Shop and play DOTA.

Ellaine was also busy arranging her things. Ang kalat kalat nya. Wala nga kaming ginawa. Haaay. Girls.

Tatayo na sana ko ng mahulog ballpen nya. Talk about being clumsy.

Ellaine : Uh-h-mm. Pwede pakipulot, Vance? May hinahanap pa kasi ako. Please.

Picking up the ballpen wouldn't hurt. And so I did.

Me : Eto o. Wag kasi tatanga tanga.

Then I left without even waiting for her response. I need to eat and rest.
