August 25, 2020Ayeesha's POV
I decide to see my sister, Haleemah, immediately Rasheed's drives out of the mansion. He didn't even take his driver with him.
I quickly change the clothes I'm wearing into something more suitable. I decide to wear blue denim jeans and a white blouse with a yellow hijab reaching my knees. I pair these with white sneakers."Uthman! I'm heading to Sis Haleemah's place," I yell as I hurry down the wide staircase.
I do not wait to know if he heard me or not.
"Where do you want to go to, Ayeesha?" my driver, Jamilu, enquires.
"Hello Uncle Jamilu. I'm just heading to Sis Haleemah's place," I inform him.
He opens the car door for me and I step in after mentioning a "thank you" to him.
The ride to my sister's place is quiet as I spend my time brooding over Aliyah. She's a strange woman and I still haven't figured out her entire plans. Something tells me she's not who she claims to be. She seems like someone who has skeletons in her cupboard and I'm going to find those skeletons no matter what. I won't let her destroy my family. I won't -"We're here, Ayeesha."
"Oh, so quick!" I mutter.
"You seem to be in deep thoughts, dear. I called your name twice but you didn't answer. Are you alright?"
"Yes, yes I'm fine, Uncle Jamilu. Just thinking about school stuff. Homework and stuff," I laugh.
"Okay, if you say so," Uncle Jamilu states.
"Yeah," I say but I know he doesn't believe me but decides to let the issue be.
"Do you want me to wait for you?"
"There's no need for that. Just come back later."
"Okay, take care of yourself," he remarks and steps into the car.
I wave him and watch as he drives out of the compound. I turn around and walk towards the front door. Just like how our family house is big, so also my sister's home was. The Abubakars have a thing for mansions. Before I press the doorbell, the door opens and I meet the smiling face of the Head Maid, Aunt Bilkis.
"Assalamualaykum, Aunt Bilkis," I greet her as she moves aside to let me in.
"Walaykum salam, beautiful Ayeesha. How are you?"
"I'm fine. Where's my sister?"
"She's in her room. Should I inform her of your arrival or you plan on going upstairs to meet her?"
"Please inform her that I am waiting for her. I do not have the strength to climb stairs right now," I tell her and fall dramatically on one of the chairs in the waiting room.
"Okay, I will. Just relax, I'll have someone bring you some refreshments," Aunt Bilkis informs me.
"I'll be in her living room. Thank you."
I proceed to my sister's private living room. It is spacious with lovely cushioned chairs and a small glass table at the centre. There's a large flatscreen tv at one corner of the room. I make myself comfortable and pick the remote, searching through different channels.
A maid enters the room with a tray of refreshments. She places the tray on a side stool close to me and leaves the room.
"Assalamualaykum, little sis."
"Walaykum salam, big sis," I smile at her.
"Come give me a hug. I miss you. Where's Uthman?"
"Uthman is at home. How are you doing and how's my neice?" I give her a warm hug.
"We thank Allah. She's sleeping. How are you?"
"We thank Allah."
I watch her as she sits down next to me.
"Nice gown, Sis."
"Thank you. Do you want me to get you something like this next time I travel?"
"Oh, wow, yes! Thank you."
"You're welcome. That reminds me, today is Saturday. Ain't you and Uthman supposed to be out with Rasheed having fun? What are you doing here? Don't tell me he's busy with work!"
"That's the reason why I'm here. He ditched Uthman and I for Aliyah. Right now, as I speak to you, they are having a picnic," I make air quotes when I say the word, picnic.
"What!" Haleemah sits straight, "How dare she!"
"Brother yelled at me today because of her. He yelled at me and asked me to got to my room. All because of her!"
"I will not let this slide. She has some nerves! And what has come over Rasheed?" Haleemah questions in fury.
"She even had the nerves to come into my room to threaten me that our brother's attention won't be the only thing she will be taking."
"Hmmm. It seems I underestimated this twat. She not only wants Rasheed's wealth but every single thing that belongs to the Abubakars. What a greedy woman!" Haleemah sneers.
"We have to stop her, Sis, before she makes our brother marry her," I utter in fear.
I will never let that woman take the Abubakar's name as hers too. Never!
"Fear no more, little Sis. I won't let that happen. I shall have a word with Rasheed. He will just have to put an end to this foolishness and send that gold digging whore out of the Abubakar's mansion."
"And if he refuses?" I question my sister.
"Then I'll just have to do it myself. I'll throw Aliyah out of the Abubakar's mansion by myself if he refuses. She will leave that house even if it means I have to drag her out by her hair."
I smile triumphantly as I watch my sister smirk.
We're coming for you, Aliyah. We're coming! Just you wait and see.Hmmm. Ayeesha and Haleemah already have a plan. Do you think their plan will work or is Aliyah already one step ahead of her? Find out in the next chapter.
