Yibo did not know why he stayed in the cafe. But he watched as Xiao Zhan cuddled with the animals, especially a cat called Nut.

He also watched Xiao Zhan cook and serve dishes while fooling around with his colleague. He had also ordered food and yes, he can't get enough of Xiao Zhan's cooking.

Suddenly, a cat nudged Yibo's leg. A grey and white cat. Yibo picked it up and remembered the one time he went to a pet shop with his brother.

Yibo wanted a cat and a dog but his parents did not allow them to, so his brother brought him out to see them.

His brother had always pampered him and found ways to make him happy, until he had to join the business.

"Yibo?" Xiao Zhan sat opposite Yibo again and handed him a tissue "Is the cat so cute that you are crying?"

Yibo blinked and realised there were tears on his face. He grabbed the tissue and wiped them. "It was the cat's saliva."

Xiao Zhan laughed "The cat's saliva came out from your eyes?" Yibo raised a brow but kept quiet.

"Are you thinking of your brother?" Xiao Zhan asked after a moment's silence. Yibo nodded his head.

Xiao Zhan bit his lip then said "I can try to get Zhuo Cheng to let you in on the case"

Yibo's head snapped up with eyes widened. Then his eyes slightly narrowed "What do you want in return?" Yibo wondered if it will be money.

"Mnnn... You can call me Zhan Ge Ge!" Xiao Zhan wriggled his eyebrows, making Yibo frown. "Come on, say Zhan Ge Ge"

Yibo did not want a favour because it had to be repaid. He did not want to call Xiao Zhan as Zhan Ge Ge either. He doesn't even call his brother Ge Ge since 4. (I think Ge Ge is cuter than Ge)

"... Zhan... Ge..." Yibo said and Xiao Zhan giggled "Yibo, you forgot another Ge. Say it"

Yibo kept quiet and Xiao Zhan pouted, shaking his head as he stood up. "Zhan Ge Ge!" Yibo said softly yet quickly.

Xiao Zhan immediately spun around to see Yibo with red ears. Xiao Zhan smiled the widest he could "Don't worry, Yibo, I'll ask Zhuo Cheng again"

Yibo nodded and played with the cat on his lap. He can't believe he said it. But he only said it so that he can join the investigation. Nothing more.

The more Yibo watched Xiao Zhan, the more embarrassed he got, hence he left first. Yibo headed to the sea his brother's ashes were scattered in.

"Brother... You told me not everyone is what I think. Not everyone is fake. But I can't help but put my guard up. After all, this is what I grew up learning. However there is this one person who keeps making me fall for his traps..." Yibo mumbled.

Meanwhile, Xiao Zhan's shift in the cafe ended. He had an hour before his next part-time job so he hurried to the police station.

"Ge, please..." Xiao Zhan whined and begged for the past half an hour. Zhuo Cheng was still ignoring me.

"Ge, I need to go for my next part-time job. Please do me this favour, okay?" Xiao Zhan said and rushed out before Zhuo Cheng could protest. Zhuo Cheng sighed.

"Chief Wang..." Zhuo Cheng called as he knocked the door. "Come in" Wang Yi Zhou said without lifting his head.

"Close the door" Wang Yi Zhou added, seeing Zhuo Cheng leaving the door open. Wang Yi Zhou handed a slip of paper to Zhuo Cheng which read 'Not here'

Zhuo Cheng nodded "Chief Wang, I would like to ask for a day off tomorrow" Wang Yi Zhou nodded his head. "To meet Hai Kuan?"

"Mn, I'm still unhappy his parents scattered his ashes in the sea. He hates the deep sea afterall" Zhuo Cheng dryly chuckled.

Yi Zhou nodded "I'm free tomorrow, I'll go with you. I didn't get to pay my respects yet." Zhuo Cheng nodded and left.

The next day, Zhuo Cheng waited at the beach for Yi Zhou to come. "Chief Wang" Zhuo Cheng greeted.

Yi Zhou nodded. Zhuo Cheng scanned Yi Zhou and frowned "Is there someone tracking you?"

Yi Zhou nodded. "My office was bugged. It's not safe to talk there. I suspect my phone might be bugged too"

Yi Zhou turned to Zhuo Cheng and said "If you're suspecting my right hand man, I'm on the same side"

Zhuo Cheng's eyes narrowed "I once saw him sneaking around... But Kuan Ge gets along well with him and trusts him"

Yi Zhou nodded. "But Zan Jin is suspicious. I think he has connections with Hai Kuan's father. After all, Hai Kuan's father definitely has his men in the police department"

Zhuo Cheng clenched his fist and grit his teeth "If I find out he was the one who helped harmed Hai Kuan, I won't let him off!"

Yi Zhou pat Zhuo Cheng's shoulder. "I heard your brother pleading you to let Yibo join in the case... Let him join."

Zhuo Cheng turned to Yi Zhou with a frown. Yi Zhou smiled "If something happened to you, I bet Xiao Zhan would do the same. He would do anything and whatever it takes to find the person who hurt you"

Yi Zhou then left Zhuo Cheng alone. Zhuo Cheng sat at the edge of the rocks, the closest he could get to the sea.

"Kuan Ge... I know you would not want Yibo to interfere, but I believe Yibo would not be able to spend his day without thinking about how to trap your parents..." Zhuo Cheng said.
