Your Backbone

1. I aced it.

Naeri walked along the streets lit by the lights in the shops. She had a bright smile on her face. She finally did it. She's finally a Y.B agent.  She finished her five years of training and passed the trainee test. 

She entered the richer part of city and started to skip her way back home. She felt so proud of herself. She couldn't wait to go and tell her aunt and uncle and her cousin about her achievement. 

She went through the door that the guards opened for her. She skipped to the dinning area to see her aunt and uncle and cousin sitting down on the dining table waiting for her. 

She walked towards them and sat down on her seat.

"Did you pass?" Her cousin, Kiya got up and ran towards her, excited to hear how her test went. Her aunt and uncle looked at her to hear her answer.

Naeri held up the certificate showing them that she did pass the test.

"I aced it." She said proudly.  Her cousin squealed and her aunt and uncle smiled at her. 

"Well done Naeri dear!" Her aunt said. Her uncle smiled and gave her a nod.

"Make sure to be careful when you go on those missions." He said. 

"I will. Don't worry." Naeri reassured them.

The maids came out, placing the plates and the food down on the table. Once they left, the family began to eat. 

Naeri and Kiya would give each other wide smiles throughout dinner since both of them were elated about Naeri's achievement. Her cousin also wanted to become an agent as well. She saw Naeri as a role model.

After dinner, Kiya went in her parents room. She saw her mother getting ready for bed and her father working on laptop. 

"Mother, Father." Kiya called out.

"Yes dear." Her mom replied.

"I came to ask if I can have your permission to become a Y.B. Agent....again...?" Kiya asked hesitantly.

Her father stopped working on his laptop and glared at her. Kiya flinched at that and took a step backward.

"Never mind, it's fine. Good Night!" Kiya hurried back to her room.

She knew they wouldn't approve but she still wanted to try again since her cousin, Naeri, became an agent.

She was secretly taking training under Y.B. Agency. It's been four years and it's her last year going on. She decided to keep it a secret from everyone, even Naeri. Kiya has always been very careful of not bumping into Naeri at the training centre. It's a good thing that they both train on different floors as they both are not in the same year of training. Naeri and Kiya are very close but she didn't want to take any risks. She wanted to try asking her parents again. She wouldn't have to hide anything if they allowed her.

I was hoping that Naeri would change their opinions, but I guess not. Only if they could have trust in me. There are such low chances of what happened to her happening to me.

NEXT DAY

Naeri went to Y.B. Agency. All the new recruits were asked to gather at the Multipurpose Hall. It was kind of like their own Induction day. She stood on the threshold of the hall. 

Oh God! Finally! It's happening. Why am I so nervous though? I'm supposed to be nervous, right? Its okay to be nervous. Yup. It's totally okay. Aahh.

Naeri started playing with her sleeves.

"Oh! Look who we have here," A voice broke her out of her trance. "Never thought you'd make it. Pity."

Oh great...even he made it.

Nancy rolled her eyes but widen them when she realised that his perk allows him to read people's minds. She opened her mouth to speak but he walked past her while bumping into her shoulder.

"C'mon, we don't have whole day, unless you want to create a whole queue behind you." He teased.

Naeri looked at him annoyed as he walked into the hall. 

Naeri knew him since she started to train to be an agent. At first she thought that he was nice but soon learned that he's an asshole. Jeon Jungkook. A competitive, good at everything, annoying oversized flee. The fact that he passed the test and will be in the agency as an agent as well has already given Naeri grey hair. She can hear his clever yet irritating remarks already. She remembered how they would always pull tricks on each other when they were training. Which would end with them chasing each other or getting a punishment from the coach.

Naeri goes into the hall and takes a seat with the other four new recruits. Their coach comes in and welcomes them to the agency. He gave a small speech about how proud he was that they made it. 

After he finished his speech, four other agents came on the stage. They were all in their suits that were designed according to their perk. On their shoulders, they had a design of Borage flower which symbolised power and courage. Everyone was told that if you see a Borage on any agent's suit, it means he/she is a Top Agent. 

"Hello everyone. My name is Park Jimin. I am very happy to have you all here. I am very excited to see you guys go out on missions and help keep our country safe." A man with blonde hair spoke. He had plump lips and a soothing voice. He had sharp jawline and was wearing a purple suit.

"Hello! My name is Jung Hoseok. It's going to be a bumpy ride so don't demotivate yourself. There will be ups and downs. I've been in your spot before so I know how it goes. I believe in you all. Fighting!" A man said whose smile was like sunshine. He seemed like a very cheerful guy. He was taller than the last agent and was wearing a green suit.

"Hi. My name is Kim Taehyung. Work hard on everything but make sure to have fun. YOLO." The man smiled at the end and his smile looked like a rectangle. He was very handsome. In fact all of them were. He had ebony hair and was wearing an orange suit.

"Good morning. My name is Min Yoongi. Remember to not give up and push your limits. Only then can you become the best you can be." He slightly smiled and stepped aside. He was the only one who looked intimidating. He had dark taupe hair and was wearing a yellow suit. Naeri recognised him as a friend she has had since childhood. She gave him a smile and he gave one back.

The top agents left after a while and the recruits were given their suits. They were told that when ever they are in the Y.B agency building or patrolling the streets, they should be in their suits.

Naeri opened the bag she was given. She pulled out a black suit. She felt the sleeves and smiled to herself. She still can't believe that she has achieved her dream. 

Naeri looked in the bag again and saw an envelope. She took it out and opened it. 

Welcome to Y.B agency.

From today onwards you will start your duty as a Y.B agent.

We have provided you two suits that are customised to your perk. Everyone's suit is bullet proof and waterproof. Your suit has been designed to not get torn easily to match your perk.
