Hello guys! Welcome to my first story! This is a dreamnotfound fanfiction, so this does include some romance but no smut at all out of respect for the people included in this.
I do respect all the characters in this, their actual sexuality irl and if one of them feels uncomfortable with this story, then I'd be more then happy to take this down.
With that in mind, please no negativity or lashing out in the comments, or just in general. People all have different opinions and I think that if we can all respect one another then we can be a positive community!
I most of the time will have a song inspo, and for this chapter it was killer in the mirror by set it off!
Anyways, enough of me rambling, make sure that you stay healthy, and I hope you enjoy! <3

??? POV
It was night, as I swiftly and quietly ran through the empty ally ways, stalking for any civilians that I could kill.
It was chilly, but I couldn't bundle up as the extra weight would just slow me down, and who knows, maybe the rush of killing will cheer me up.
I was like a wolf in sheep's clothing, I'd say that I'm on the smaller side but I could deliver a lethal blow.
I turned a corner and found a drunk wandering around. 'Perfect' I think to myself as I easily take a dagger and stab it in the older mans neck.
It was muscle memory by now, I had been a killer since I was younger, but now a days who wasn't?
I watched as the man fell on the floor, as I pulled the dagger out of his neck. There was a pool of red gradually growing wider by the second around him.
After I made sure he was dead, I crouched down and tapped the inside of his left wrist.
A wrist band showed up as expected. I took it off of him and put it around my own, tapping my wrist this time to make it disappear.
These wristbands shaped the society in this world. They were only transferable at death (besides cashing them in) and could disappear and reappear somehow when the inside of your left wrist was tapped.
How technology worked these days, I had no idea, but if you took these wristbands into the center of the city, the guild would trade money to you for them.
After you went to exchange for your money, you would start back at 0 wrist bands, but I never lost count. I remember how many lives I've taken and the number just gets larger and larger each day.
I tapped my wrist to count how many bands I had. 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. I stop when I count 30, there being at least 10 more, but I got lazy. 'not bad' I think as I click my wrist again out of habit.
Some people keep their wristbands physical to scare off others or to prove a point, but I liked the element of surprise, my stature could help me catch people off guard.
I stand back up, ready to run again. I use the shadows to move around unnoticed until I see a blue light in the sky.
'Oh it's 12am already' I think as a virtual screen shows up in the sky. The daily leaderboard.
This updated everyday at 12 am, showing the top 3 genociders for the day, calculations taken by the guild of course. They ran the show, basically running the world.
I wasn't surprised to see my 'name' up there again. It was pretty much just a normal day.
I didn't have a home, I hadn't for a long time, it had been at least 15 years.
I just hopped on a dumpster and then on a random roof. I looked up at the holographic screen again. 'At least it's only says my 'name' and doesn't show my face, that would be such a pain,' I think crouching on the roof as I hear some voices.
I hated people. It was mostly a trust problem that I had from past experiences, but honestly I didn't see the logic in friends or family in this world.
My head stings as I remember those words. "Who knows, he could easily kill us at any second, do you see that smile on his face, it's a look of pure evil"
I shook my head clearing my thoughts. The voices had grown louder, but I doubt that the people would spot me or bother to fight me.
I was wrong. It was almost as if they were searching for me, they looked me square in the eyes. I noticed two figures, one I recognized right away.
The guild's leader, a taller man with pig like features and a gruesome face. He was the most respected person in this world and didn't have to worry about being killed.
Beside him was a more hyper person. They wore a white bandana around their head, and they seemed to be talking to the man next to him.
I overhear something that the guild leader says, and I pick up the name 'sapnap'. 'That sounds so familiar, where have I seen this name before?'
Well there's no time to think, the leader radiated some kind of royalty vibe that I just couldn't wrap my finger around. I didn't like it though.
I wanted to back away and to hide in the shadows but the leaders stare bore into me and I stood frozen, still. 'Why were they hunting me down? I help bring glory to their system so what is this?' I can't help but be a little scared.
They both stopped at the bottom of the roof, the leader taking out a sword. 'This is not how I'm going down' I think and I turn around and sprint, causing both men to chase me from roof top to roof top.
I'm very nimble, and Id say that I know the way of the streets better then anyone else. I still hear them behind me so I don't stop running.
I run all the way to the outskirts of the city, I hide in a makeshift den, I'm hidden by brush. I don't see any sign of them and I let out a sigh of relief.
I go to turn around but that's when I see him. The man with the bandana punches me square in the face and I black out as I realized that I fucked up.
