Chapter 4: Rumors and Mishaps

The Jam and Roller

            As Luna enters the Jam and Roller, all eyes are laid on her. Luna notices across the room Nina typing in her computer. She anxiously runs to where Nina is sitting at. "Nina why is everyone staring at me?" "I think it's because of what was on the news today. Everyone thinks you and Matteo broke up and that he replaced you with some girl named Viviana," Nina clarified to Luna. It felt like a huge weight was pulling Luna to the ground. Things just had to go haywire after everything finally fell into place.

            Across Luna and Nina's table was Ámbar filing some papers. She has been very eager to hear Vidia's news on the Jam and Roller's future. Luna notices an apprehensive Ámbar and decides to talk to her. "Nina I'll be back, I'm going to check up on Ámbar," Luna stated to Nina. When Ámbar noticed Luna walking up to her, she immediately grabbed all of her lose papers and stuffed them back into the binder. "Hola Ámbar. Hi Ámbar. I just wanted to check up on you. Is everything ok? You look really stressed out and very red. Almost as if you saw a ghost or something," Luna greeted Ámbar. "Oh nothing much just a......studying to be a lawyer is hard that's all," Ámbar stuttered which made Luna even more worried. "Well you know that you can always count on me if you ever need any help. Plus, Nina's mom is a lawyer as well; which obviously I know you knew that, but just a friendly reminder. Ámbar, are you sure everything is ok? You seem to be really holding on tight to that binder," Luna inquired feeling really concerned for Ámbar. "oh, that's because...... I don't want the wind to take away my homework. Usually you can blame it on the dog but not on the wind. Also, thanks for the advice but I think I'm fine for now," Ámbar nervously chuckled.

             Right before Luna could say another word, Jim and Yam entered with Ramiro. Jim and Yam rushed to give Luna and Nina a hug while Ámbar was saved by the bell. "Oh my gosh I've missed you besties! How has that performing arts university going for you guys," Luna asked while smiles were plastered on everyone's faces. "It has been so much fun, but this year has been really rigorous. It is nice though that we have each other. It makes the scary setting feel a lot more like home," Jim confessed with a happy smile. Ever since Jim and Yam started attended their prestigious university, they haven't had the time to meet up with Luna and Nina at the Jam and Roller, but since its finally summertime and the semester has ended, they now have time for their friends and roller skating.

             After everyone gave each other a hug, Ramiro hesitantly revealed news that everyone has been talking about. "I don't mean to ruin the moment but have you guys heard what's been going on between Matteo and Viviana on the news. Luna, perdón, I don't mean to put you on the spot right now but... have you and Matteo broken up?" The whole Jam and Roller stayed quiet as everyone wanted to hear what Luna was going to say next. "Umm I don't know much about Viviana, but I know, well at least I think, Matteo wouldn't ever cheat on me. To be honest, I don't want to talk about this right now," Luna stated scratching the back of her head right before Simón walked in. "Dónde está Matteo? Where's Matteo? Cause the person who should really be explaining himself should be him," Simón yelled out loud leading to Luna trying to shush him. "No Símon it's ok. It's probably a misunderstanding I just don't want to make a scene especially involving Matteo since he's a celebrity now and I don't want to ruin that for him." "Luna, I know your trying to be nice and all, but I can still see the depressive look in your eyes. Tus ojos nunca mienten. Your eyes never lie. You're my best friend and I've known you forever. I know when something is bothering you and it's my duty to protect and defend you cause I care a lot about you," Simón comforted Luna and then gave her a hug.

            While Simón and Luna hugged each other, Matteo walked in. A crowd of girls rushed towards him for a picture. Luna immediately looked down to the floor with a noticeable frown on her face. Simón saw her gloomy, which ignited the flame to his anger. Simón quickly walked towards Matteo and called out, "Me and you need to have a serious conversation right now." Luna saw and rushed over to their not-so-friendly encounter. "Ok, please Simón and Luna, let me explain. The news, paparazzi, and the tabloids all love to lie just to sell and make a lot of money. I promise you guys I'm not with Viviana and I don't care to be with her. Alright, she's just a friend," Matteo announced while the whole place was quiet. "What about the pictures. Cause the pictures show that you and her have been really close to each other," Simón asked to Matteo. "Yes, I have hanged out with her but only a few times because she loves coming to my shows and is a good friend of my manager, that's it. The least I try to do is look for problems, especially in that industry, so obviously I'm going to be nice but she's just a friend. Luna I would never cheat on you. Never. I fell in love with you the minute I laid my eyes on you and that will never change." Luna's smirk transitioned to a wide grin. Everyone was in awe of Matteo's words.
