The Christmas Gift

Merry Christmas! Hey, it's Sophia here _and I'm just about to hang up my stocking as it's Christmas Eve. Awesome!! I just lurrvee Christmas, don't you? It's about my favourite time of the year. Everyone waits for twenty fifth, hiding secret presents and gifts to surprise their friends and families. It's just so amazing.

I think there is something truly magical about Christmas, when anything could happen or our wishes could come true. I was talking to my friends about our Christmas wishes, and we were discussing what we would want for Christmas if one of our wishes was granted. If you haven't met my friends yet, I think it's a cool way to introduce them.

Sterla was the first to come up with her wish. She didn't have to think twice and said 'I want to be the most brilliant person in the world.' You know, Sterla loves riddles and quizzes and she is the most intelligent one in our group. She has curly chestnut-brown hair and beautiful forest-green eyes. Mind you, if anyone would become a scientist, engineer, or doctor in our club it would surely be Sterla. Her actual ambition is to be a detective though, and I'm certain that she will make a great one too.

Clare came up with the next wish. 'I would love to have a horse _no, I wish that all the humans and animals would be friendly and kind-hearted to each other.' Clare is a little soppy. But she is the kindest member in the adventure club. She is very beautiful too. She has dark brown curly hair and a fair complexion, but the thing that makes her special is her eyes. She has got sharp hazel eyes and it's a very peculiar feature in her face. It's not like any normal hazel eyes, it's somewhat an odd eye color_ a combination of hazel and amber. It makes her face really beautiful and gorgeous. She has got the biggest secret of her life that no one knows, not even her parents, well, except for us. She has got a magic power. Surprised? Well, it's not much. When she sings a song, her melodious voice can turn an evil mind to a good one. The only problem is that if she doesn't complete the song, then the matter worsens. Wanna know which song? Um...even we don't know. When she sings that particular song, only she and the person that it is directed to can hear it. We found it out when once we were bullied, and the boys asked her to sing. She sang the song that sprang to her mind, but we found out that we couldn't hear it. We thought she was mocking them, but instantly they allowed us to go and apologized. Cool, right? Don't panic, alright? She is not an alien or anything. But the truth is that she has got another power, a real extraordinary power. She can talk to animals and birds. You must be astonished, but frankly, we weren't that surprised. She had always been extremely friendly with nature, birds and animals. As I said before, she is the kindest person in our group. She was extraordinary from the start.

'What about you, Emma?' I asked her. She was deep in thought. She was the most beautiful girl in our group. She is just so gorgeous with her honey blonde hair and electric-blue eyes. All the boys in our college are after her, but she doesn't mind any of them. Well, Sterla and Clare always say that I am being modest when I say that she is the most beautiful. Maybe yes, because I have to admit that I am stunning with my long brown hair and mesmerizing russet-brown eyes. I have equal number of boys around me too. But she is the one who always radiates the beauty with those stunning blue eyes.

'Oh, come on Emma. It's not a real wish, is it? Just say something' said Sterla rolling her eyes.

'Um, yeah. I would like to have five hundred dollars to spend on clothes.' She thought again and said 'No, no. Thousand dollars' and again 'No, no. I would love to have a million dollars.' She said finally satisfied.

'Ugh! Couldn't you think of anything better, Emma?' asked Clare.

'Ya, what a weird wish!' I joined. Emma is always madly in love with clothes, makeup and even mirrors. You might have already guessed what I must have bought her for Christmas. Yes, of course_ a whole new set of makeup. Duh!
