[Prologue]

Lara Thomson is the adopted sister to Caroline Forbes. Her family took her in after Lara's parents, unfortunately, died in a car accident. Lara, too, was in the car along with her little sister but Lara was unexpectedly found in the woods, dirty and naked. No one knows what happened because not even Lara knew.

When her sister turned into a vampire, she knew, she knew straight away. She no longer smelt like the sweet perfume she wore, instead, she smelt of death, as well as the perfume. After discovering that sweet 'innocent' Elena was, in fact, dating one of the vampire Salvatore brothers, Caroline and her, mainly just her, became apart of the 'save Elena gang'.

However, when going this group she wasn't aware of the fact that she was going to become 'best friends' with a vampire version of Elena or with a suited original but the biggest surprise was her finding her mate, the original hybrid.
