Looking at the faded photo of my father one last time, I went to school for the first time since my loss of my father hit our family hard. I hadn't been able to accept it and after a month I had tried to pull myself together.

Receiving looks of sympathy and awkward smiles, I sat at the spare desk near the door of the lab. No-one knew what to do.

Suddenly, a bespectacled man wearing a brown coat and suit spun into the lab.

'So, physics,' he said, going on and on. 'Physics, physics, physics...' He sure loved physics. And then when he saw me his face broke into a grin.

'Nadia!' he exclaimed. 'Come with me.'

Grabbing me by the hand, we ran out of the lab and taking me inside a blue police box. Despite it being bigger on the inside, I noticed something much more important first.

My father was alive.

'Your father was never dead,' the teacher stated. 'He was helping me save the world.'

'I never gave up hoping you were alive!' I cried, hugging my father.

'That's why I called you Nadia,' my father said with tears in his eyes. 'It means hope.'
