October was approaching faster than Clementine Cook could have ever imagined. She was the type of girl who absolutely adored everything that came with the last three months of the year. She couldn't care less about the cliches of Valentine's Day or the fireworks that accompanied Independence Day. She loved the chill of the air that the Autumn season brought around every year. She loved the crunch of the leaves underneath her boots. She loved painting pumpkins with her younger brother out on the balcony of her two bedroom apartment as they drank hot chocolate. She got so excited to dress up every Halloween.Thanksgiving was a hit or miss holiday, but she enjoyed cooking the feast every year. Now Christmas? That was the best time of the year for Clementine. Her two best friends and her brother all in one place decorating the apartment blaring whatever Christmas song came on shuffle that day. Dressing up in flannel pajamas all month long was tradition for Clementine. She would curl up in front of the fireplace in the living room with her brother and best friends while The 25 Days of Christmas countdown movie of the night was displayed on the TV.
Although, this year Clementine finds herself sitting on her couch alone come September 30th killing time before she had to be at work. Scrolling through her endless social media feeds she sees couple after couple posting cute ideas to do together for the upcoming holidays. This gets Clementine thinking that she really doesn't want to do any of her favorite festivities alone this year. Her brother Mason will no doubt be spending his time with his new girlfriend Alexis. Her best friends Stephanie Porter and Austin Garcia recently got engaged, so they have lots of wedding planning to do. She wants someone that she can have around to do her favorite holiday things with.
Clementine works next door to her apartment complex at the coffee shop she opened almost three years ago. She always knew she wanted to open a business so she combined that with her love for coffee and thus 'Deja Brew' was born. It's a nice sized shop with a deep red brick exterior. The inside has three white walls and one black accent wall made of chalkboard paint that Clementine uses to write the menu and daily specials on. She has many couches, chairs, and different sized tables throughout the room, as well as one table attached to the window with a few seats surrounding it for a street sort of view. She also collects many books for her customers that she places on brown bookshelves throughout the room. There are many different games or cards on the bookshelves that the customers could also use if they would like. Clementine likes to make it look as comfortable and cozy as she can so her customers could feel relaxed while they work, or enjoy their day.
On her way to work this particular morning though, Clementine was in a bit of a rush and bumps into none other than Spencer Reid while she was exiting the elevator. Ramming straight into the young doctors right shoulder, Clementine finds herself falling into a jumbled mess on the floor. Looking up at who she bumped into she quickly knows who he is. Clementine and Spencer aren't exactly close, but they aren't strangers either. Both of them, seemingly in too much of a rush to form coherent sentences, mumbled a string of flustered apologies, checked if the other was alright, and walked out the door of their building going opposite ways to work. After this exchange, Clementine could not get the idea out of her head that Spencer Reid is the perfect candidate to ask to participate in her holiday plans with her. She just had to pitch the perfect presentation for him to agree to her wacky plan.
Unbeknownst to the brunette, the doctor was having the same predicament. He had been teased all week since the proposal of a dinner party at Rossi's had come up and the group realized the doctor would be the only one not bringing a date. The more the teasing escalated, Spencer had accidentally yelled out that he would indeed be bringing a date. Seeing as he was running out of time to find an eligible suitor to accompany him, he wasn't in any better of a mood when he found out that Derek and Emily were now teasing about what girl actually agreed to go with him. Bumping into Clementine that morning though, posed just enough of an opportunity to the genius that he has found the perfect girl to compliment his attributes at the dinner party. He just needed to figure out a way to ask her so that she will agree to go.
