Shu: Just jump down and–and say some fucking gay shit.Reiji: *reluctantly* Okay
Reiji: *jumps down from the counter*
Reiji: I'm gay.
Shu: *wheezes*
———I Need Someone Like You———
Shu holds his camera upwards, the screen showing Reiji on top of the kitchen counter. Shu smiles evilly, a glint of malice in his eyes. He can add this to the list of blackmail he has saved. Reiji sighs, and Shu giggles at his expression.
"Okay, just jump down. And say you're gay."
"Alright..."
Reiji does as he's told. He jumps down, landing flawlessly. He looks up, at Shu and the camera, and in a monotone voice, says, "I'm gay". Shu wheezes, turning the camera off. Reiji stands up straight, his fist held tightly by his side. He's resisting the urge to wipe that hideous smile and shrill laugh from Shu. He can't take being in the same room with him. He's going to snap.
"I'm going to practice my drums."
He turns around, ignoring Shu's roaring laughter. Reiji's anger seems to accumulate as he approaches the studio. He needs to do something. Anything. He needs to release all the negative energy and thoughts from his head. Reiji approaches his drum set, quickly taking a seat.
Instantly, his head is cleared, he feels safe and relaxed. His drum set is clean, so he doesn't have to waste time cleaning it and can get straight to drumming his anger away. Reiji grabs a hold of his drum sticks, taking a deep breath. The anger boils underneath his skin.
It's hot. He can feel his sweat running down his back. Reiji grips his sticks tightly. The rage fills his body and soul. He wants to tear the world in two.
He doesn't take to much time pondering. Reiji decides to drum to a new song. He doesn't think. He just plays. It's all instinctive, all that training made it possible for him to play with no thoughts. It's all muscle memory.
His arms move by themselves, along with his legs. That's the difficult part of drumming. Being constantly aware of your body and how it moves. But Reiji is a good drummer in that sense. He has a powerful play, but also because he doesn't have to think to much and focus most of his drumming on powerful strikes.
His anger plays a huge role in his drumming. He's only able to give a powerful performance because of his rage. In a way, it's always been his outlet. If it were ti be taken away...
No.
No thoughts. Just rage. He holds his drumstick tightly, and strikes the cymbal a little to hard. It cracks, and it's evident in the sound it makes. Reiji doesn't care. He keeps going until it breaks, shattering it and rendering it useless.
Reiji stops, his breath rather heavy. He feels the sweat all over his face and neck. His shirt clings to his back. He drops his drum sticks. He'll fix his set later. Right now, he wants to get cleaned.
He feels dirty and awful.
Reiji curses under his breath, leaving the studio and heading straight to his own room. He gets to his room without a problem, feeling a weight being lifted of his shoulders. He also feels safe in his room. It's his room. He takes his time getting cleaned, showering with cold water. He hops out and dresses quickly.
Reiji sits on his bed, and the anger still hasn't settled. It's roaming, and it's out of control. He feels like he's going to snap. He might take it out on Kanata. He despises Kanata.
