y/n's perspective

It was the day of the big game. Slytherin versus Hufflepuff. We all knew who was expected to win. People always bet on Slytherin. Draco's dad would always buy them the newest and fastest brooms, and their ruthless personalities translated on the field. They were good. And Hufflepuff had never won a game against them.

That is, until Cedric came along. He brought the Hufflepuffs to a whole new level. Now every game against Slytherin had been neck and neck, down to the catching of the snitch.

I definitely had some pregame nerves. Out of everyone on the team, I had the most to prove. I was the only girl and the easiest to take down as I was the smallest. I started taking deep breathes to soothe myself when I felt two hands start to massage my shoulders.

I didn't have to turn around to know it was Cedric. "You'll be amazing, Y/n. You always are. Double Trouble's third year. You know what those Muggle friends of yours say," "Third time's a charm," we said in unison, laughing.

"I can't wait to see Malfoy's face when you snatch the snitch from out of his pale, scrawny hands." Cold. I bet his hands were cold. And those rings. Silver rings. Like his eyes. FOCUS.

"I know," Cedric replied. I knew he was still angry with Malfoy over the whole Mudblood thing. But then again, when wasn't someone angry with Malfoy? "Ready?" Cedric asked, snapping me out of my trance.

I smiled at him as we did our pregame handshake. "Ready as I'll ever be." We both jumped onto our brooms and soared onto the field. The crowd roared, and the Hufflepuffs in the stands started chanting, "Double trouble, double trouble!"

The Slytherins tried to scream over them with their own chant, "Malfoy, our Slytherin king" as the king himself raced onto the field. My eyes met his as he gave me the smirk of the century, clearly loving the attention. Cocky little son of a

"Players, assume your positions," Madam Hooch declared, "And let the game begin." I caught the quaffle midair and started heading for the hoops, dodging the Slytherin boys along the way.

I made sure to give Draco a smile and wave as I passed. He gave me his signature snarl in return.

I dodged the Slytherin keeper and got the quaffle in with ease. Now I just have to keep doing this until I get the signal from Cedric. Once he spots the snitch, he does a circle around me to signal me to distract the other team.

Until then though, I will just keep dominating as chaser. My teammates and I weave in and out of the Slytherin team as they try to bash into us. Their ambitious nature can be a little destructive during quidditch.

Us Hufflepuffs are just having fun passing the quaffle back and forth, because it's all fun and games until the snitch comes into play.

I see Draco's smile as he spots it and I know Ced hasn't seen it yet. "Cedric, GO!" I shout, praying that he sees Malfoy racing after the snitch.

Sure enough, Cedric sees Malfoy and they are now flying practically on top of each other, their arms both outstretched as far as they will go, faces deep in concentration. It's kind of hot honestly.

I race all around the field, circling around the Slytherins to keep them from attacking Cedric. While this is keeping them away from Cedric, I realize that we're never going to win if I can't get Draco away from him.

I quickly change course towards the two seekers. "Y/l/n going in for the action, helping out Diggory with the race for the snitch!" I hear over the loudspeakers.

Ced and I have Malfoy between us, both flying into him to try to get him to back off, but he's determined. "Come to join in the fun, Y/n?" "Nope, just came to see your face when you lose." "Not going to happen," he retorts.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Cedric with his hand an inch away from the snitch. I look up and smile only to see the Slytherin beater send a bludger straight for Cedric's head. I fly in front of him trying to hit the bloody ball with my broomstick. Then all I see is black.

My head is screaming with pain, but I can hear distant voices. "You blithering idiot! You could have killed her!" "I didn't mean it to hit her, I swear! I meant it for Cedric." Whoever it was sounded desperate. Then just loud banging noises. "You're lucky this is all I'm doing to you, you ass." Wait that sounded a lot like,

"Draco?" I asked in a hoarse voice.

"Thank god. She's awake." Another voice. "Cedric?" "Shh, it's ok. I'm here." I took a deep breath, taking comfort in the fact that he was there. "Out of my way Diggory." "Jesus Malfoy, calm down, she's fine."

I opened my eyes to see Draco standing over me with a black eye and bloodied fists. He looked almost, concerned?

Wait, NO WAY. Malfoy was worried about me. This. Was. Gold. I could use this to my advantage. "Who are you?" "Shit, shit, shit. Diggory, she's got amnesia. What do we do?" "Where am I?" I added, making sure I sounded super confused. "You're at Hogwarts and I'm Draco. And this is Cedric. We will make sure you're safe. I promise." Aww, that was kind of cute.

I could tell Cedric had caught on to my prank at this point. "What's Hogwarts? Who's Draco? Oh wait, did you mean Draco Malfoy, the most gullible Slytherin in the history of Slytherins?"

"You. Little. Prick." he snapped, turning away from me. "Oh come on Malfoy. A second ago you were worried about me. All 'I'm going to keep you safe. I promise.'" "That was just so Cedric wouldn't kill me for you getting hurt in that game." "Sure it was. Who won by the way?" I asked innocently, knowing the answer.

"Your scrawny little badger team. It wouldn't have happened if you didn't so graciously jump in front of Cedric though. Really had to go out as a hero, didn't you?" "It's kind of my specialty."

He shook his head and I could swear I saw a glimmer of tears in his eyes. Maybe I was too harsh on him. With a helping hand from Cedric, I slowly got up and tapped Malfoy on the shoulder.

"Hey loser," I said with a smile. "What?" he snarled as he turned around. "Good game Draco." "Good game Y/n."
