By the time it was getting dark all the kids had finished eating dinner, Aelin and her court helped feed the younger ones who couldn't eat by themselves yet, the Night Court offered to do the same. The children were now sitting on blankets and pillows in the ball room, the Night Court were told to sit with them. All were shockingly quiet for children which made Rhysand and Feyre started fearing the worst but then Aelin finally sat down in the centre.
'Tell the story about the Battle of Mistward.' One of the children said.
'How about someone form the Nigh Court tells us a story?' Aelin asked. All eyes turned to the Night Court.
'I guess I could tell a story.' Rhys said reluctantly after a while. Aelin smiled gratefully at him and gestured that he should sit next to her in the centre.
'Once upon a time there was a beautifully and strong female she had wings like mine and she loved flying.' Rhys began, Aelin was using her fire to make an image for the children. A little girl about four got up and sat in Aelin's lap hugging the queen's very pregnant stomach, Rhys recognised her as one of the orphans. Aelin put a blanket of her wildfire on the girl and she snuggled into it.
'But her parents were evil and they couldn't wait for her to be old enough so that the could sell her to the highest bidder.' There was a round of gasps at that. 'She didn't want to grow up because it would have mean that she could no longer fly as her her husband would have cut her wings just a little bit but she wouldn't be able to fly ever again.' Another child this time a boy no older that six came up to Aelin and sat next to her, she wrapped an arm around him and hugged him close.
'When the female was finally old enough she wanted to run away but she was caught and dragged back. The males then held her, while another one was about to cut her wings and cripple her when a king appeared. It took one look at her for him to know that she was his mate he k... stoped the males from crippling her and made her his wife that evening. And they lived happily ever after the end.' Rhys finished quickly.
'Was that story about your parents?' One of the older children asked. Rhys nodded.
'Tell us another story.' Whined the child in Aelin's lap.
'But make it more interesting.' Ordered one of the children in the back. Rhys was taken aback yet again, those children were ordering around even Aelin, their queen, and she let them.
'I would like to know more about your world.' Mor interrupted also wondering about the orphans ordering Aelin around.
'How about tomorrow it's late and the children should go to sleep.' Said Rowan looking at the massive clock at the back of the room. There was a round of no's but eventually all of the kids went out of the ball room to their rooms. Aelin was holding her stomach while talking to the head healer, lady Yrene Westfall, Rhys and Feyre met her when she came up to them to ask about their son not feeling well about ten minutes after they came through the portal. They had to lie that Kaden had already seen a healer in their world, which she very obviously did not believe but let it slide.
Aelin doubled over, Yrene caught her and called Rowan. A moment later water was in a puddle under Aelin and Rowan carried her out of the room most likely going to their own sleeping chambers, Yrene and Lysandra following them along with another healer.
