Curse

I woke up in the infirmary the next day. Blinking a few times to adjust my eyes to the light shining straight on my face from the window. A figure slowly moved beside me as the sound of a cane rested against my bed. When my eyes finally adjusted the figure was revealed to be none other than doctor Franxx. I sat up still a little sore as I looked him in the eye

"What are you doing here," I asked confused

"Well somebody had to fix you up. While your regeneration dose wonders for you it's better to help it out manually." I looked down on the new scars on my arm as he continued. "Besides, I had to scold you for destroying Blitz's arm," He said in his mechanical voice before proceeding to scold me for about 20 minutes.

"Oh and your dear father wanted to talk with you," He said as he left the room leaving me alone

I decided to call him later and went to get dressed. I put on my regular clothes since I didn't care about the standard parasite uniforms. I grabbed my jacket and right as I left my room I bumped into Hiro.

"Hey Y/N, your okay!" He exclaimed happily

"Ehh yeah I am," I said awkwardly as I realized that I had nowhere to hide my tails since I was holding my jacket

"I've already seen them," He said softly, putting a hand on my shoulder. "You don't have to hide who you really are"

I was quiet for a bit, thinking about what he just said. It was the first time somebody told me to be myself. "Okay Hiro, let's just hope you aren't there when I lose control" I answered, walking away before he could reply.

Hiro followed just behind me until we reached the dining room. Everyone was already there when we arrived. I quietly walked in without hiding my tails, feeling rather unsure about it. Nobody said anything but I could feel that all eyes were on me. Well almost everyone's since Zero two wasn't here. I sat down and started to eat my breakfast while listening to what the others were talking about. Everything slowly returned to normal until my communicator started to ring. Everyone went quiet so that I could answer. I put the communicator on the table and answered. A projection of papa popped up and everyone froze.

"Did the good doctor forget to tell you that I wanted to speak with you?" Papa said monotonously, in a way suggesting that he was annoyed

"No dear father, I just utterly ignored it" I scoffed, resting my head in my hands

"Your rebellious face hasn't passed I see" Papa Sighed before continuing. "I have assigned a new partner to you, Code 084. He has shown promise so let's see if he's compatible with you"

I felt a knot form in my stomach when he announced this. The promise 084 had shown wasn't the truth. The truth is that he had done something that didn't sit well with Papa and as usual, I was his form of execution.

"Very well, But" I sighed looking down on the table

"No buts. He will arrive in two hours," Papa said before ending the call

Everyone remained quiet as I put the communicator back in my pocket. After which I slowly stood up and started to address the entire room.

"A word of advice, don't get attached to 84. He won't be here for long"

Before I could sit down again, Ichigo stood up and addressed me. "How come you called Papa for father?"

"Classified"

About an hour had passed since the incident at breakfast. After Ichigo's question, I had quickly left the house and made my way into the forest. After wandering for a bit I had come back to the lake where I meet Zero two a couple of days ago. I was currently swimming in that lake, the cold water against my skin was refreshing. I light chirp made me open my eyes. My eyes landed on two small birds sitting on a branch right above me. I slowly reached out my hand towards them, to which they looked on curiously. Suddenly I was pulled under the surface, barely having time to gather breath. A few seconds later my back hit the bottom of the lake. It wasn't deep, about 3-4 meters. Suddenly Zero two appeared from beside me, giving me a smug smile. I smiled back, Until I realized that I couldn't breathe. I quickly went back to the surface and Zero two broke the surface right beside me. It reminded me of when we meet.
