I've never been one for parties. Actually scratch that. I've never been one for people. I have no friends. Not since King moved to Italy for a mission.

This is a smaller party then I've been to. King usually took me to parties where if you separated from the people you were with, there was little chance of finding them again. Big parties. Where fights occurred every couple of minutes, police showing up, kids getting thrown in the drunk tank. Fires getting to big. People getting lost. I don't miss those parties.

A big open clearing in the middle of a forest, with a giant bonfire roaring high in the middle. I've been here before, for one of those big parties. But there is a small fraction of people here tonight. Mostly seniors and sophomores tonight. Just outside of L.A. Close to the house I bought for my eighteenth birthday. I stood just in the tree line. Watching Cleo drink a fruity vodka beverage, gossiping with her friends. Observing for any threats to my sister. Nothing this party was a waste of my time.

I took a long sip of the beer, the behemoth Cleo calls a boyfriend, flung into my hand upon arriving. It wasn't the best beer I've ever drank, but it gave me something to do other then just standing here staring at my sister. She was having so much fun. Smiling. Laughing. She deserves to be happy. Smart, beautiful, popular. Everything I'll never be.

Downing the last of the beer out of the bottle I took another look around. My Father said to keep on eye out for Nikolias Conners, but to also keep my sister safe and happy. All I know about the boy is he's nineteen, one year older then I am. And has green eyes and black hair. Very bland basic knowledge.

But it wasn't a black haired green eyes boy that caught me attention. It was the blonde haired brown eyed behemoth. Kissing some girl. Some girl that was not the mafia princess known as Cleo Jones. I turned my attention to Cleo. Hoping she didn't see him. But she was just blankly staring at Rider. No emotion on her face except a single tear rolling down her pale porcelain cheek. That's when I moved.

Dropping the now empty bottle of beer on the ground, I stalked towards the cheating bastard. Only I'm allowed to make my stupidly perfect sister cry. I was halfway over to him when a small hand grabbed my upper arm. "Don't Marley." Cleo said quietly.

Glancing at my sister. Tears now staining her beautiful cheeks. Mascara smudged under her eyes. I took her hand in mine lacing my finger with hers. I took my other hand and wiped some of the loose tears away. I wrapped the same arm around her shoulders. Bringing her in for a hug. I placed my forehead on hers and whispered "I'm just going to talk to him. Okay?"

"We both know you talking to someone involves you beating the crap out of them." She whispered back.

"I won't hit him without your approval." I swore. She nodded as a response. So we walked. We walked together hand in hand towards the behemoth who was breaking my sisters heart. Steady pace. Past a group of boys, eyeing us up as we followed the couple making out into the woods. Cleo's grip was tight in mine. I glanced in her direction. Sad. Too sad when she was so happy just moments ago.

Deep into the tree lines is where I found the cheater and his new girl. I let go of Cleo's hand, giving her a half hug. She took a deep breathe but didn't stop me as I walked up and grabbed a fist full of Riley's hair and yanked him off the small innocent looking girl. "Leave." I seethed at her. She ran like a scarred doe back into the light of the fire and laughing drunk teenagers. Trying to put her bra back on as she sprinted.

"What the fuck Marley." Rider spat at me. I released his hair after shoving him to the ground.

"You think it's cool to cheat on my sister you dumb ass?" I asked with honeyed words and sweet but innocent smile. My hands clasped loosely in front of me. I rocked back and forth on my heels.
