Wait, that couldn't be right. I had been dancing with Jennie the entire night. How could this person be her? As she neared me, I only became more confused. It really was Jennie. Her features were exactly the ones I remembered admiring. Her dress was exactly the one I remembered seeing. Her voice was exactly the one I remembered hearing.

"Jennie?" I raised an eyebrow as she stopped in front of me. "Wait, if you're here, then who's-"

"I didn't mean to, I swear!" the Jennie in the black dress begged.

"You fool!"

As if I wasn't already confused as hell, a dark cloud began to form in the center of the ballroom. Clouds? Inside? What the fuck was going on? The Jennie in the black dress left my arms, allowing for the white dressed Jennie to slide in. I clung on to her, holding her as though I might lose her. From the dark cloud emerged a mysterious figure. A man, at that. He scowled at the girl in front of him.

"You had one job and you failed!" he shouted.

"Please don't hurt me!" the girl pleaded.

With a flick of his hand, the Jennie in the black dress transformed into an entirely different person. Instead of a brunette, she was a tall, blonde girl who was very pretty. She still wore the same dress as Jennie, except it was entirely black. She sunk to her knees, tears falling down her cheeks.

"R-Rosé?" Lisa stepped in front, kneeling down to the blonde.

"Lisa." The blonde fell into her arms, still bawling.

"You two know each other?" I questioned.

"I'll explain it later," Lisa said as she carried Rosé out of the room.

I stood there, dumbfounded for a few moments. However, those moments didn't last long. The mysterious man looked down at Jennie and I, and I shivered under his gaze. Soon enough, Jennie was the one holding me protectively.

"It seems as though the little swan has found her wings," he said with a devilish smirk.

"I know what you're doing," Jennie said.

"Am I that obvious?" he snarkily remarked.

"You had no right bringing Rosé into this!" she shouted. "This is between you and me."

"You know her too?" My eyes widened.

Jennie turned around and sighed exasperatedly. "Yes, darling. Keep up."

"That black swan had debt to pay." The man sneered.

"She had no debt. You're just bitter that she's smarter than you," Jennie jabbed.

He scoffed. "If she truly was smarter than me, then she wouldn't be one of my swans! And neither would you."

"Are you calling me dumb just for refusing you?"

"Precisely!" he yelled. "Know your place, woman."

"My place is the same as a man's," she snarled. "And why should I listen to you? You're just a scared, timid little man."

"Scared?" he laughed. "Why would I be scared?"

Jennie fumed. "You know why. You're scared I'm going to break your pathetic curse, aren't you? That's why you sent Rosé disguised as me. You wanted to trick Jisoo so that I'd forever remain a swan."

"I'm sorry, what?" I stopped her. "Jen, I thought you told me you didn't know how to break the curse."

"I'm a liar too," she said. "I knew how to break it all along. I just didn't want to tell you."
