George didn't say much during their walk home. Clay was talking about something him and Wilbur did last week in their English class, but George was too busy zoning out to listen, then all of the sudden-
"George?"
George still zoned out...
"George, you good?"
George finally realizing that Clay said his name...
"Hm? Oh sorry. What was your question?"
"You looked like you were thinking about something...is something bothering you?" Clay asked softly
Oh I don't know Clay, maybe its just the fact I've developed feelings for you dumbass.
"No, I'm fine" George says trying to get him to change the subject. Clay could see right through the lie, he always could. George usually admired that about him but this time he wishes Clay couldn't tell.
"George...I'm not stupid. You are one of the loudest people I know, and you haven't said a word since lunch, so what's wrong? You know you can tell me literally anything right?"
George was on the brink of crying, and for what? Clay was just asking a simple question, but George didn't have a simple answer. What was he going to tell him? There was no way in hell George would actually say what's wrong.
Just think George...

thin-
"We could just go to my house and hang out if you really don't feel like talking about it." The taller boy nudged his elbow into the other boys side.
Thank god
"Yeah that sounds good, and...thank you Clay." George spoke.
Clay just smiled and wrapped his arm around the shorter brunets shoulders. He did that all the time but this time it made George feel different. He tried to hide the smirk creeping on his face, but failed.
Clay didn't know why George was acting so distant all of the sudden but hopefully he'll get the brit to tell him, because he hated seeing his friend look so sad. Clay looked down to see his friend smiling, which made him feel relieved.
"cute" He thought to himself.
((TIME SKIP))
The two boys approached Clay's house, he unlocked his front door and let George in first. They both went upstairs and headed to Clay's room.
The taller boy sat on his bed and motioned for George to sit next to him
and that's what George did.
The brunet stiffly sat next the other. They sit in silence for a few seconds before Clay finally asks-
"So, are you gonna tell me what's been bothering you?" The blonde looks directly into George's chocolate coated eyes, he looks back at him, feeling all the words he wants to say try to escape his lips. But all George could do in that moment was break their gaze and look down at his fidgeting hands.
Was George seriously gonna avoid the question again? No, he had to tell him something. Maybe if he wasn't going to tell him about the feelings he has, maybe he could tell him something else that he's been afraid to say.
