A Hunters Trip To The Past

You Weren't Specific, Killua

Gon didn't know if this was too early, or perfect timing. He doubted the Queen ant was alive yet, but it also gave him plenty of time to get stronger. The major downside was they had plenty of opportunities to screw up the time line. Then again, it couldn't get more screwed up than their time, so it could only get better, right?

   As he, Kurapika, and Leorio entered the Hunter exams and received their badges, Gon searched for Hisoka and Killua. He spotted them and made eye contact. Killua gave him a thumbs up and Hisoka gave a smirk confirming they were both from his time and Nanika is super powerful.

   "We made it here!" Gon grinned.

   "Yeah we did." Leorio smiled. They were talking about two totally different things, but whatever. Probably best Leorio didn't know what Gon was really talking about anyway.

"I can't wait to become a hunter! That's gonna be so cool!" Gon decided to just roll with it.

   Gon and Leorio went back and forth talking about being a hunter while Kurapika just listened and occasionally said a few things. It wasn't long before that newb crusher walked up to them. This time, though, Gon wasn't gonna be fooled. Nah, he was gonna fool that newb crusher.

Part of Gon's training he and a bunch of other hunters received from Killua was resisting poisons and other things that could possibly slow or kill them. It was an awful training, but very useful. Unfortunately, in Gon's current body, he didn't have as much stamina or resistance or power or anything as his future body, but he did have more than when he was twelve the first time around. That meant he could resist the laxitives enough to mess with Tonpa. Not like Killua, but enough to creep him out.

   "Number 16 is going to try to give us some drinks that has some laxatives in them." Gon told Leorio and Kurapika once he noticed Tonpa heading their way.

"How can you tell?" Kurapika asked.

"I can smell it!" Gon tapped his nose and smiled.

"You've got one heck of a nose." Leorio commented.

"Yeah, I guess." Gon shrugged. He noticed Tonpa was nearly to him and mouthed, "watch this," to Leorio and Kurapika

"Hi, I'm Tonpa. I can tell you guys are new to the exams, so, if you want, I can show you some tricks." Tonpa greeted.

"Thanks for the offer, but I want to do this myself. I don't really want to rely on other people." Gon said.

"Oh, can I at least offer you guys a drink? To celebrate us getting here?" Tonpa started getting out his drinks.

   "No thanks." Kurapika said in a cold voice.

   "I'm not thirsty." Leorio gave him a glare.

   "Sure! I'm pretty thirsty." Kurapika and Leorio gave him a questioning look. Tonpa gave Gon his drink and watched with a smirk as he saw Gon down the drink. "Oh, by the way, laxatives don't work on me." Gon, Kurapika and Leorio looked at the pale, slightly panicked Tonpa and laughed.

   At that moment, the hunter leading the first phase of the exams walked in. He did the same thing as last time, so Gon, Killua, and Hisoka did too. Gon, Leorio, and Kurapika started running together and Killua joined later.

   "Hey! Using a skateboard is cheating! This is supposed to be a test of stamina!" Leorio yelled at Killua once he saw Killua pass them on a skateboard.

   "It's not really cheating. All he said was to follow him." Gon pointed out.

   "Hm... how old are you?" Killua got off his skateboard.

   'Somewhere around 24' Gon thought then said, "I'm twelve."

   "I'm Killua. What's your name?" Killua held out his hand for Gon to shake.

   "Gon!"

   "And how old are you, pops?" Killua turned to Leorio.

   "Who are you calling pops?! I'm not even in my twenties!" Leorio yelled. Kurapika, Gon, and Killua made shocked faces.

   "I thought you were at least in your mid forties." Gon and Killua still greatly enjoyed teasing Leorio about how old he looks.

   "Now you're just being rude." Leorio glared at Gon, who gave an innocent smile.

Gon and Killua stayed until Gon talked Leorio into not giving up. After that, Killua challenged Gon to a race to the end. They wanted to talk about their situation. Discuss what to do, then talk to Hisoka about it when they can.

   "What should we do this time? Should we do the same things we did last time, or change a few things? What do you think, Killua?" Gon asked.

   "We should do what we did last time. I'll fail the exam and head home. That way, I can talk to Alluka and Nanika about this. Not to mention Kurapika and Leorio will be able to become more powerful. We definitely want them to get as strong as they can get. If we time it right, we won't need their help, but it's safer if they get stronger anyway."

   "How long are we gonna do what we did last time before stopping the ants?" Gon's expression went dark with bad memories.

"Let's wait to decide that until after I talk to Alluka and we can talk to Hisoka." The pair continued to discuss things and their plans.

"What do you mean 'is Kurapika a girl or boy'?" Killua looked at Gon oddly.

"Well, Kurapika goes by he, but do you think he really is a he?"

"Does it matter?"

"No, not really. I'm just curious. I think Kurapika is a girl, but acts like a boy to be taken more seriously in order to avenge her clan. I mean, Biscuit did say that it wasn't that uncommon for girls to dress up like boys to be taken more seriously."

   "True, but I don't think so. I think he might be like Alluka except he was born in a girl's body."

"Hisoka thinks that Kurapika is a guy who looks like a girl."

"Of course he thinks that. Hisoka was really attracted to Kurapika when he got that huge power boost a little before he died."

"Is that why Illumi was really angry with Hisoka?"

   "Yeah, I had to deal with an angry Illumi for a month." Killua grumbled.

   "I had to deal with an upset Hisoka. It was harder to deal with than when Illumi died."

   "Yeah, that made Illumi even angrier."

   "Why?"

   "Hisoka is attracted to you, and he went to you for comfort."

   "Hisoka doesn't like me."

   "Gon, after all these years, you're still incredibly oblivious." Killua face palmed.
