I woke to a cold bed, aang no longer at my side. The cabin was quite, no one else around besides myself. Realization hit me, it was the third day. They must have left. They left me. Aang left me. Anger, betrayal, sadness, hurt. That's what I felt as I stared at the parchment on the wall watching it go up in flames. I was snapped out of my emotions when I heard talking outside. I walked to the door opening it just a crack to peak out, making sure it wasnt a threat. I was washed over with complete happiness as I saw aang standing out there. He was talking to katara and zuko as sokka packed appas saddle up. Suki and toph were already sitting atop it on appa. I walked out going closer to the group.
"I promised to travel with you all, so I should do it" katara said annoyed as if they were arguing about this for some time.
"Katara, I dont know if that's a good idea, come back with me" zuko said as he put a comforting hand on her back. As they noticed me aangs face lit up.
"You're awake, that's good, I didnt want to wake you before you were ready" he looked behind me with a confused look.
"Dont you want to take anything with" now it was my turn to look at him confused. Realization struck his face as he chuckled and scratch the back of his neck with a faint red tint on his face.
"I guess I never did answer your question, I want you to come with us y/n, after all, I do need you" his face became redder as he said that. I couldn't help the wide smile that spread on my face.
"That's wonderful to hear, I dont need anything though, I dont have anything of value to me, but there is something I want to do before we depart" aang nodded his head as he looked back to katara and zuko. Katara was looking at me with a scowl, I could feel it burn into my body as i turned to walk back to the cabin. I walked back out with special feed that I keep for the wildlife around me and put it all over the ground. I whistled without my fingers and made a few loud clicking sounds. Shortly a bunch of wildlife came out and started to eat the feed I put down.
"I just wanted to bid you all farewell, the day has come that I have to leave. Live well for me beauty's" I said walking back, walking to sokka.
"Here, how about you go up on appa and I'll pass the supplies to you, make it a little easier" I said to him with a smile as he scrambled up on appa. I used air bending to gently lift the supplies up to sokka, one by one. As I was helping load appa katara scoffed and continued talking to aang more quietly thinking I wouldnt hear them, but everything else was so quiet I could tell what they were saying.
"Is that why you dont want me to come with anymore, cuz of her" katara spat.
"No, it is because you have been cheating on me and didnt even bother to tell zuko we were still together before you started rolling around with him" aang spoke calmly, but I could tell he was suppressing his emotions so they didnt show.
"What i want to know is how long has this been happening"
"About three months, give or take, I really am sorry aang" zuko spoke. I lost focus because of his words and the box I was air bending to sokka dropped to the ground breaking. Everyone turned and started to stare at me as I stared at the broken box. It couldnt be could it. They wouldnt go to that length would they. I need to know.
"I'm sorry sokka, here" I quickly bended the last box to him.
"I have to go, I'll be right back" I said as I turned to run off a little into the woods till I couldnt see them anymore. I sat down with crossed legs and started to meditate, bringing forth the Oricale before me.
"What troubles you my dear" she spoke softly.
"Did the spirits do this" I asked rather hastily.
"Did the spirits influence katara to cheat with zuko to push aang and I together" She just smiled at me with a knowing look on her face.
"I need to know tell me"
"Yes, three months ago when you were brought back home" was all the response I got.
"Why, I said I didnt want to come between them. I said I wanted them to be together. I said i want him to be happy with her. Why did you have to ruin aang, why was he not considered in this. I need him to be happy." My voice gradually picked up in volume as the wind picked up around us.
"Calm down dear"
"No, you hurt him. Do you know how bad that was to see. Do you know how much it hurt to feel it off him"
"It had to happen"
"No it did fucking not, I told you to stop. I told you I didnt want that. I-"
"Are you sure he's not what you want. Are you sure you dont want him like that. I can feel your emotions, you can lie to yourself but you cant lie to me y/n" she spoke and faded away leaving me an angry upset mess. I looked up to the treetop and screamed as I grasped my head.
"I WASNT DONE TALKING TO YOU" just then aang jumped down from a tree and the wind halted around me.
"Y/n are you ok... I heard you scream... who were you talking to" he kneeled down to my level. I looked down as I responded, not being able to meet his gaze.
"... the Oracle before me... I had questions... I can talk to them like you can with the past avatars" I mumble then he grabbed my chin gently and moved my head up to look at him.
"Can... can you also travel to the spirit world" he asked gently.
"No, only you can go there, and only you can talk with the spirits. They just proved me with visions and let me talk to the past Oracles" he nodded and pulled me up with him.
"Ok, come on, we are all set to go.... zuko and katara want to travel with us to the town we were supposed to meet at then will be heading to the fire nation together... zukos men will meet us there, are you ok with that" he asked me as we started to walk back, hand in hand.
"Why wouldnt I be..... but aang..... will you be ok"
"With you there.... I think I'll be fine" his words made me smile as a light blush came to my face.
"Good, that's what matters"
