You see, when you're in love, it just happens. You can't stop it from happening, whether you like it or not. And that's how I felt. When you're like me, you aren't supposed to like girls like her. You aren't supposed to dream of what it would feel like to hold a girl like her in your arms or what her lips might feel like against yours. It's forbidden, punishable by death to your social status. But at that moment, I was determined to make a dream a reality. But how? There's no way she could like a guy like me. No way. No way she ever dreamt about me the way I dreamt about her. The was just absolutely no way. I ran my hands through my hair, a sharp sigh leaving my lips. I put down my guitar. Reaching over to my stereo, I pushed play Jesus of Suburbia by Green Day (A/N: I love that song so much!) blasting through the speakers. Falling back onto the bed, I stared up at the ceiling. How could I even talk to her? She was so perfect, and I wanted her to be mine.

As I pulled up to the school the next day, I saw her sitting in her usual spot by the front of the school. She was alone, her face buried in a book. I bit my lip, a nervous habit of mine, before putting the car in park and getting out. I slowly made my way towards her, my backpack slung on my shoulder. When I got to her, she briefly looked up at me. She blushed, a sheepish smile on her face.
"H-Hi," she says.
"Hey," I reply. "What're you reading?"
"Oh um... it's Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan," she replied showing me the cover.
"I've heard that one is good. How is it so far?"
"Um... it's good. Very good actually."
"I should read it then huh?"
"Maybe you should. Can I just ask you something?" She asked giving me a look.
"Shoot."
"Why are you being so nice to me? I-I mean not that I don't like talking to you or anything, it's just you haven't really ever talked to me before."
"I'm sorry, am I bothering you?"
"No! No. Not at all! I was just curious."
"Sometimes I like to get away from my friends and hang out with someone who may just be better." Her eyes widened in surprise at my words.
"Surely I'm not better than your friends."
"Oh, but I think you could be. Would you maybe like to come over to my place later?" She smiled. "Yes. Of course I would love to."
"Awesome." I beamed. I reached into my bag and grabbed a pen and a piece of paper. I scribbled my address and number on it before giving it to her.
"See ya later." I smiled before getting up and walking into the building just as the bell rang.
