Third POV
Once upon a time, in a village far away, lived a group called the Pop Trolls that celebrated almost every day.
The Pop Trolls had holidays up the wazoo! From Bubble Day to New Hairs Eve, just to name a few. Enjoying holiday after holiday, they partied without stopping. They celebrated everything with their leader, Queen Poppy and the Peacekeeper of Music, named Val.
But across the way, in old Bergen Town, lived a group called the Bergens whose spirits were down. They had but one holiday that brought happiness. A tradition of eating Trolls on a day called Trollstice.
Then Poppy taught them that joy was inside all along.
So they got rid of Trollstice, and their only holiday was gone. And so, on Trollstice Eve in Bergen Town, the Bergens, well, now they're just kind of sitting around.
Val's POV
Right now, Branch and I are with Poppy in her house.
As days pass, we send cards of each holiday to Bridget and Gristle, and we get cards from them. Each card that is sent to us has a picture of them and a sign saying what day it is.
Poppy just got a card from them. "Huh. Well that's consistent." She says as she hangs the card on the wall with the others.
I stand next to Poppy and look at the cards. There is a lot of cards.
"Branch, Bridget sent another card." Poppy says to Branch.
I look over at Branch and see that he is looking at himself in the mirror. It looks like he is trying to smile.
But he already knows how to smile. Maybe he wants to make it look better.
"What are you doing?" Poppy asks in confusion. "Are you about to barf? I'll go get a trash can." She says afterwards.
"What? No. I'm just trying to improve on my smile." Branch says.
I knew it.
"Oh, well, let me help. Smiles are my jam." Poppy says as she walks up to Branch.
Poppy starts "helping" Branch with his smile, but it doesn't seem to be working.
"You're face is being very frustrating." Poppy says while trying to have Branch smile better.
I hold in my laughter. This is a little funny for me.
"What is the deal with these cards?" Branch asks while looking at the cards.
"It's like ever since Trollstice was canceled, the Bergens don't have anything to look forward to. I feel really bad for them." Poppy says.
"Yeah. I agree." I say in agreement.
Just then, gasps as if she has an idea.
"Uh, no. No, no, no. I know what that look means. You're about to hatch an elaborate plan which involves a lot of hugging, singing, dancing, and... glitter." Branch says to Poppy.
"You know it!" Poppy says.
"There's nothing wrong with singing." I say quietly.
"Okay. Promise me, or us, you'll sleep on it before you rush into something like you always do." Branch says while walking to the exit of the house, with me following behind him.
"Okay. I won't do anything." Poppy says with a smile.
I don't know about this. I have a feeling she is going to stay up all night a create a plan.
Let's just wait until morning.
(Here's the first chapter. Sorry if it's a little short.)
