Dione's PoVDream World
...the first thing I heard were blaring horns.
I wasn't sure where I was, if I was being perfectly honest. I knew I was opening my eyes to being in the streets of New Orleans, which were colored in lights and confetti.
Lights and confetti? But Mardi Gras isn't until next year....
Well, that's what I thought.
It wasn't until I felt the fabric of someone else's clothing that I realized that I was being held. This person...I couldn't see their face, but a certain protective warmth entered me when I was in their arms.
Soon, I was finally turned around to get a full view of the action.
It really WAS Mardi Gras! But...not how I was used to it. The music in the streets was much more vibrant, and all I saw was people like me, dancing with each other so fiercely. At the same time, there were also people dancing so elegantly, wearing facemasks, on parade floats, balloons, sometimes even people eating FIRE! It was chaos, but wonderful chaos, at that.
There were faded and broken voices, too.
"...iana...Go!"
"Al...anza!"
What...?
I soon felt myself off of that person's shoulder and onto someone else's, making me pout for some strange reason, my stubby arms reaching out for them.
Before I could connect the dots together, I saw two people, dancing together underneath the brightest two evening stars.
Their faces were inconceivable to me, but they seemed happy, I could tell. One was a lady, and she had the most beautiful dress I had ever seen. Such rich colors...
And a soft, ghostly, raspy voice filled the air.
...ow....lights....sky...
...elle...Evangel-Real World
...
Ouch...sunlight...
That was the first thing I saw when I woke up - always.
That, and I felt the harsh headache from sleeping on a wooden table all night. As well as a tiny amount of warmth coming from my firefly necklace...I've always lived here by myself, see. For...mon dieu, I'm afraid I cannot remember how long. However, this diner felt like home to me.
Mainly because of how massive it was.
It was abandoned, but it had a grand stage, a staircase, even a backroom kitchen where I usually made whatever I could to eat - and that was in very small amounts, truly. Perhaps I should try and reopen this place...?
Non, then I'd have to share it.
And when you're an orphan in Louisiana? Sharing meant dying.
Come on, Dione. Don't be so selfish...
...but alas, I can't help but be selfish. What's there to be ashamed about when you've never really had anything? I'll take what I can get, and that is barely anything at all. I was lucky enough to loot a rugged jacket I saw a while ago.
