"Oh, I left my soufflé in the oven and now it's on fire!" Little Sophie says, acting out her her blonde, plastic Barbie. Little Sophie was in love with Barbie dolls. She had the dream house, Ken, Barbie, a pool, a boat, and ton of other random barbies. "Sophie. Time for bed." Keira says, leaning against the door frame. She stared at her happy little sister. She was a cute little five year old, a brunette --like herself-- with bright blue eyes.

Ever since their parents had died in the fire Keira never felt happy. Sophie didn't understand that mom and dad weren't coming back. She didn't understand why her sister never smiled, or laughed like before. Seeing her sister sad, made Sophie sad.

She jumped up and gave her sister a hug. "Night night, sissy." Kiera felt the edges of her lips form into a faint smile. Sophie bounded over to her bed.
"Night Soph. I love you." Keira says. She flicks off Sophie's light, slowly walking away.
"Love you too, sissy!" Sophie calls after her sister. Sophie lays back in her bed, slowly drifting off to sleep.

Keira stood in the kitchen, making pancakes for Sophie. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, trying to find a comfy way to stand.

Sophie skipped out of her room, practically floating into the kitchen to the smell of pancakes. "Sissy! You made pancakes?" Sophie asks.
"Yes I did, Soph." Keira says. Sophie bounced excitedly as a plate of pancakes was set in front of her. She poured syrup on the pancakes. Sophie thought the looked like the pancakes were swimming in the brown, sticky liquid. She grinned up at Kiera. "Thanks, sissy!"
"Anything for you," she sighed, "Soph, Jay is coming over to watch you today. Jess is sick."
"Will she get better?" Sophie says, filling her mouth with the golden fluffy food.
"Yes. She will..." Keira trails off. She stared outside the apartment, looking at all the people in the city. They walked as if there was no problems whatsoever. Keira was jealous of how they lived happy family lives but her and her sister had to live without anyone but each other. She had to work hard for the food she put on the table.

It was so unfair to her.

People don't ever realize how lucky they are until they've lost that luck.
