As Kerrin walked home that morning, thoughts of Luke filled her head. She couldn't stop thinking of the way his eyes sparkled when looked at her, the way he spoke to her, his tender words too good to be true. He seemed so enthusiastic and genuine, and her love for him was still increasing by the day. And she began to wonder, but she didn't dare to believe...
Does he love me?
She could hardly bring herself to hope, for she knew that it was unlikely that Luke felt the same way about her as she did about him. But what if he did... and he acted like it. But she shouldn't raise her hopes only for them to be let down...
Kerrin had now reached her home. She let herself in and quietly closed the door behind her. Then she tiptoed into her room and, exhausted, fell into bed without even changing. I'm too tired to try and figure it out today. I can contemplate it more tomorrow night. And tomorrow I will see him again... this was her last thought before she drifted off to sleep.
