Gabriel knew what happened back when Balthazar was alive, what happened to the lovely Winchesters in a state of emergency. Of course he knew about it- it was something to poke and prod at when the archangel wanted to irritate the boys.
But now... that universe is going to be a huge help for him. Because they have information that Gabriel doesn't exactly know about without asking, and the ex-trickster wasn't one to ask questions first.
With a snap of his fingers, Gabriel was in the other Universe. He had popped up right outside of a trailer, which had multiple tags on the side: Director, Loki, Gabriel, Awesome Guy, and King Of Con. The Archangel landed right where he needed to. Perfect.
There were many ways that Gabriel could do this: He could disguise himself as someone else (which probably wouldn't have worked out too well), go straight in and restrain the other man to make sure he doesn't call for help, or- he could pop in and ask the other man not to freak out—
"Hey, buddy, you're not supposed to be back here." Ah, nuts. Gabriel pivoted on his heel, only to meet a face that matched his. Never mind.
The other man widened his eyes and froze for a moment. His eyes wandered around Gabriel's body, then he decided to rub them, making sure this wasn't an illusion. "Holy shit. You're—"
"I'm you, and you're me, yes." Gabriel interrupted, his upper lip twitching. This was amusing. "Mind if we have a little chit-chat in your humble abode here?
I gotta get back to the boys soon."Gabriel's double nodded, gesturing for him to enter the trailer. "Y-Yeah, sure. It's unlocked." The Archangel entered first, followed by the other man, who looked around the setting to see if anyone had witnessed this. Thankfully, no one had. Locking the trailer's door, the other man turned around and clasped his hands together. "So... I'm assuming you're Gabriel?"
The Archangel, who had taken a seat on the bed, nodded. "Yeppers. And you're the guy who plays me in this universe...?"
"Richard Speight Jr." The actor replied, raising the tips of his toes. "Now," he walked over to the fridge and pulled out two beers, handing one to Gabriel- who accepted it. "What can I do for you, Gabriel?"
Gabriel raised an eyebrow. "You don't seem at all freaked out about this. Is this all... normal for you or something?"
Richard took a sip of his beer, shaking his head. "No, not at all. But one of my friends had a dream a couple years ago where Sam and Dean came here, but everyone knew them as Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki- their actors," he took in a deep breath. "Misha was killed in his dream by a demon... he only told Jensen, me, and Jared about it."
"Misha plays...?"
"Castiel." Richard sighed, shrugging. "There's little reason to freak out at this- though seeing myself was a little weird. Then again," he used his hands to gesture around them. "This is Supernatural... no such thing as weird."
Reasonable. "So, you know the characters well... right? I mean, you created us in some way. I have two questions. " The actor raised an eyebrow, gesturing to go on. "One: Is the connection between Dean-o and Cassie a real thing?"
Richard's upper lip twitched. "Everyone has their opinions. Jensen isn't big on it, but everyone else agrees that it should be a thing. Most of what happens between the two: Castiel dropping weapons because he doesn't want to hurt Dean, Dean eye-fucking Castiel... it's all there. Subtext."
"Fucking knew it," Gabriel grinned. Oh, there was going to be teasing, and neither man would know what he was talking about. "Two: Sam... what's his opinion on men? It seems clear that he has taste in them, but I'd rather not assume."
The actor choked on his drink, starting a coughing fit. He was NOT prepared for that question. "Honestly, there isn't... not that we know of. I have a feeling there's tons of things in your universe that is nothing like the story here, or even close to the script." An idea popped in his head. "But, Jared has quite the relationship with Sam- he plays the character after all. I'll call him real quick for his opinion, how about that?"
Not seeing another option, Gabriel nodded. One answer would be better than nothing, even if it was an opinion.
Richard set his beer down and pulled out his phone, dialing the other actor's number. It only rang for a few seconds before Jared answered. "Richard? What's up?"
"I have a question- and you're NOT allowed to laugh, or tell any of the guys about this." Jared hummed on the other line, meaning his friend could continue. "It's about your character, what's your opinion on him swinging for both teams?"
There was a long pause. Richard began tapping his fingers on the counter, hoping the giant wouldn't begin laughing. "Umm... I don't know. I mean, if you look at the lines and watch the acting, Sam sometimes looks at men different or gets flustered by them. Plus, there was a fuck ton of sexual tension between him and Gabriel in the beginning, if you remember."
"Got it, thanks, Jay." He lowered the phone from his ear and ended the call. Gabriel leaned forward on the bed, arching an eyebrow. "Jared said that he thinks there could be something. Sam acts different around men sometimes, and not to mention the tension between the two of you in the earlier seasons as well as when you... came back after Asmodeus. We all like to think that the Winchesters' way of saying 'I love you' is 'I need you'."
Gabriel's grin slowly fell into a genuine smile. That made him happy... he could finally tell Sam how he felt, maybe be rejected, maybe not be rejected. But with Richard's help, he felt more confident. "Thanks, Richard. I won't forget this."
The actor smiled back, nodding. "No problem, Gabriel. It was actually nice to meet you." Gabriel nodded back and held up his hand to snap him back to the universe, but Richard had one more thing to say. "Come back to tell me what happened, don't leave me hanging on this."
Gabriel saluted his actor. "Will do. Thanks again." With the snap of his fingers, the Archangel was gone.
"Well, that was eventful." Richard face-planted on his bed. He really hoped it did work, with all that Gabriel's done... maybe Sam could set him back in order. "Good luck, Gabriel."
Happy birthday, Richard Speight Jr.!
