After meeting his character, Richard acted different around his friends. I mean, for him to meet the Archangel Gabriel- even if he's from another universe, and to have a decent conversation with him. Oh, that changed a man.
Shortly after Gabriel left, Jared knocked on Richard's trailer door. The director set his drink down and opened it, surprised to see his friend so late in the evening.
"Heya, Rich. Can I come in?" Jared smiled lightly as he asked. A bottle of Mezcal covered his left hand's large palm, and Richard immediately assumed something was wrong.
Nodding, Richard stepped aside and allowed Jared in. The other actor let out a large sigh and plopped down on the bed, not before setting the alcohol container on the counter. He looked... a bit tired, and overly confused.
"Jared, you're freaking me out here." Richard eyed his friend with widened eyes. "You only bring a drink to my trailer when something's goin' on. What happened?"
Before Jared could respond, there was a sound of flapping wings, and thuds of shoes echoing through the trailer. "That would be my fault." Richard turned around, surprised to see Gabriel again so soon, and it seems that he brought Sam with him. Ah. "Dunno how, but we... uh... dropped into the wrong trailer."
The archangel fell into a quick explanation, because Jared looked about ready to either snap or faint. "We're from the Supernatural universe, which you two are busy filming. I'm Gabriel, and this is Sam. A few hours ago, I came to Richard for help on a... personal matter."
There was silence. All eyes were on Jared, who was the one that needed the explanation. His eyes widened, softened, grew into confusion, then snapped to his friend. "That's why you asked the question about Sam, isn't it?" A nod was his response. "And why you didn't want me to tell the guys...?"
"Questions I didn't want to answer," Richard replied. He had turned around to pour them glasses, thinking they would be here for a while. "And now that you know, you can't tell the guys."
After understanding spread around the room, Richard's thought had been right. Gabriel asked if they could stay a little longer, as him and Sam were testing an experiment involving Castiel and Dean. Richard and Gabriel talked at a table, while Sam and Jared spoke on the bed.
"This isn't at all weird to you, is it?" Jared knew it was a stupid question, but that didn't mean he couldn't be curious.
Sam shrugged. "We've been this way before, except the guy who played Castiel died... that was weird." He paused and looked over to Gabriel. "His explanation didn't help either, so I wanted to meet Richard himself." Looking back at Jared, his eyes became apologetic. "Sorry for freaking you out back there."
"'S fine. I'm actually a bit glad you dropped by my trailer, even if it was on accident." Sam raised an eyebrow. "Rich called me earlier, asking about my character- you. I was curious as to why, because the question was random... and now I know." Speaking of character... "Robert has you written as completely straight. Your bisexuality is shown through subtext. Would you want me to... ask to change it?"
There would be minor problems, Jared, of course, knew that. His friend's reaction to his 'idea', possible angry fans (highly doubtful)...
"Hmm..." Sam set his glass down in front of him and put his chin on his fist. This was him they were talking about, yes. But there's plenty of differences in his world and this world. "Honestly, you're probably asking the wrong person. I mean, that sounds good to me, but there's bound to be problems here, right? So, maybe talk to... Richard about it. He'll have better answer to that. My opinion is a tad biased."
"I'm glad you came back to tell me." Gabriel waved his hand in the air. "Though you did say you'd come back, I half expected you not to. You've opened a portal to another universe for a question, I didn't think you'd return either way."
The archangel smiled. "Well, I was going to come back on my own, but Sam wanted to meet you and thank you himself." He looked over at his boyfriend, who was laughing with the actor who portrayed him. "I'm glad I did bring him along. He isn't always this happy in our universe, even with me and Dean around."
Richard nodded, looking down at his glass. "I know." That made him feel a tad bit bad. Happiness was taken away in their universe because of how the show was written.
A loud ringing interrupted further conversations. Sam pulled his phone from his pocket and brought it to his ear. "Dean?"
'SAM, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!' The phone was immediately removed from his ear, which resulted in putting it on speaker. 'You better not be out there doing something with Gabriel!'
Sam looked over at Gabriel, who sighed aloud and rolled his eyes. That meant it was time to go, otherwise Dean would kill them both for leaving this long. It has been two hours since they dropped in, and time is different in their universe. "We're not doing anything, Dean. Just... having some drinks at a bar, talking with some other hunters. We'll be back soon." Then he hung up. "I'm so dead."
The couple stood up from their seats and moved to the middle of the room, stopping to say their goodbyes, of course.
"Thank you, Richard. I... This most likely wouldn't have happened so smoothly if you hadn't helped me out," Gabriel shook his actor's hand with a smile. "And for the mezcal, I'm buying some before we drop back to the bunker."
Instead of the actor his hand, Sam was surprised when he pulled him into a hug. "Thank you, Jared." He patted his back, then hugged back. Not something that happened often, as one of the big rules of the bunker was 'No Chickflick Moments'. "You're a nice person to talk to, or maybe it's just easier because you've read my lines."
After pulling away, the 'Thank you's' turned around, ending with the couples' final goodbye. With the flapping of wings, Sam and Gabriel were gone.
"You think we'll ever see 'em again, Rich?"
Richard hummed and looked up at his friend. "Maybe, maybe not. But... Sam did leave this, for you." He pulled a small sheet of paper from his pocket, a phone number scribbled across it. "Gabriel said Sam was feeling too shy to give it to you himself, so he asked me to give it after they left."
Under the hard handwriting were words that Jared couldn't help but smile at. 'I do enjoy talking to you, a conversation every now and then would be nice. Thanks again.'
(What was that ending??? No clue. I was thinking Jared and Sam could talk after this, despite the fact of getting caught talking to someone from another universe. But Sam now has a best friend that isn't family... so... yep. Hope you enjoyed!)
