Billies pov:

Billie: yes?-i said as i heard a knock on the door. I just gave my first class and ik a few girls are gonna give me some work but the rest of them are nice

Abigail: excuse me, are you miss oconnell?-a little girl said putting only her head inside the classroom

Billie: thats me, how can i help you?-i said sitting in my chair-come in, no need to stay there-i said as i noticed she wasnt coming in

Abigail: its just that my sister was supposed to be on your class but shes sick so my dad asked me to tell the teacher-she shyly said playing w her hands while slowly coming near my desk

Billie: okay, whats your sisters name?

Abigail: jade adams-she said and i wrote it down

Billie: and whats yours?

Abigail: abigail adams

Billie: okay abigail can you tell your dad that im still gonna need him to sign a justification paper-she nodded and started to leave-i love your hair btw-i said and she turned around w the biggest smile on her face

Abigail: you do?-i nodded smiling at her too-but doesnt look like earthworms?

Billie: what? Ofc no, why do you think that?

Abigail: a few kids in my class said it, they didnt want to sit w me bc im black, isnt that racism?

Billie: come here-i said patting my lap and she sat-it is racism and im glad you know what racism is so you never do it to anyone, but theres plenty of kids who dont know what that is and ofc thats no justification but never listen to them okay? Youre beautiful, your hair is beautiful and so is your colour and if they dont wanna sit w you, i want, so why dont we go grab some cookies-i said and she nodded while smiling-okay, i just need to get my things ready-i started go get my things ready and put eveything in my purse, i grabbed her hand and we went to the vendine machines, got some cookies and we sat at a bench in the schoolyard

Emma: hi billie-emma said

Billie: hi emma, whats up?

Emma: i just wanted to ask if i can stay here w you, the kids said im weird for being white w earthworms hair, ion even know what that means but i didnt appreciated

Billie: ofc you can, sit here-i said patting the spot on my left and she sat-can we share some cookies w her?-i asked abigail and she nodded giving some of her cookies to emma

Emma: im sorry but i cant afford to buy cookies or im not gonna have money to eat for the rest of the day-she said

Billie: hey, its for free, you can eat as much as you want, i can grab more if you want-i said and she nodded smiling. She got some of abigails cookies and i stood up to get more cookies from the vendinge machine but before i left i presented them to each other-oh, emma this is abigail, and abigail this is emma, you guys can be friends-they smiled at each other and nodded. I got more cookies and gave it to them

Emma: i should problably save some of this cookies for my dinner-i honestly feel so bad for her cuz she problably doesnt eat as much as she should

Abigail: you dont have to, eat them and i can give you my lunch for your dinner

Emma: and what are you gonna eat at lunch?

Abigail: anything, i'll eat when i get home, i have food for dinner and you dont so i can gladly share mine w you-she smiled shyly

Emma: are you sure? Ion want your mom to be mad at you for giving food

Abigail: my mom is not around but my dad doesnt mind, if he knew you he would problably give you every food we have home-she giggled

Emma: thanks abigail

Abigail: since we're from the same class, we can just sit together at lunch okay, you can come too miss oconnell

Billie: call me billie and i would be glad to join you guys-the bell ring-well, we gotta go, stay w each other and if you need anything, come ask me okay-they nodded and they stood up grabbing hands and going to their class, i smiled at them and went to my class too

Time skip to lunch time

Abigail: billieeee-i heard abigail yell, i turned around and saw her running to hug me, behind her was emma also running

Billie: hey girls-i said as they hugged me

Emma: we have a problem, the chairs at the cafeteria are really short, you dont fit there billie, what are we gonna do?

Billie: well, if you guys dont mind we can sit at my car

Abigail: its okay for me

Emma: yeah me too

We went to my car and the three of us sat at the back and started to take off our lunches

Emma: oh no, i forgot to buy my lunch

Billie: good knews, you can keep that money and buy another thing cuz i got you lunch-i said giving her two sandwiches, juice, candy, an apple and cookies

Emma: wow, sm food-she said excited

Billie: and you dont have to save anything, eat everything you want and i can give you some more money for your dinner

Emma: no, its okay, thank you sm Billie-she said hugging me and i kissed her head

Billie: i got candy and cookies for you too little girl-i said giving candy and cookies to abigail and she smiled.

Abigail: thank you, but if my dad finds out he'll kill the three of us-she said giggling

Billie: why?

Abigail: i can only eat candy at the weekends

Emma: i never properly ate candy

Abigail: what?

Emma: i cant afford it, the first and only time i ate candy it was from another kid, i kinda stole it tho, but please dont tell the police, i was starving from not eating for almost a week

Billie: hey, no one is gonna call the police, and emma, if you or your family ever need food, talk to me okay?-she nodded
