They were fighting again. This is the fifth time he's brought a random girl home, calling them "my new mother", but I know better than to get attached to a one-night-stand. Something about this fight felt different than the others though, he seemed madder than usual. I've only ever heard that tone in his voice when I once asked why my mother left, only to find out she actually killed herself 'because of me', we both knew it was because he never loved her and only abused her, he just wanted someone to blame. I don't know why, but when I heard her leave I went to check up on him, I must have been out of my right mind. He was rather quiet, but as soon as I entered the kitchen he began to rant about me, saying I was a good for nothing child, telling me I was worthless. I had heard it all before, so much, that I taught myself to not let it sink in. I think he noticed I haven't paid much attention to his words anymore, because he suddenly sprinted up and launched towards me. For a few seconds, all I saw was black, then it all went blurry. I felt myself swaying, and felt something dripping from my forehead, but once I had finally realized what he had done, I was already out the door, and running far, as far away from that trash can of a home as I could.
